European Blogging Success!

Blogging can be soul-destroying or thrilling. For me it's usually between the two but yesterday I was told, by the lovely people at E-Blogs, this post had been translated into French and Italian. To say I was chuffed to wee bits wouldn't be an exaggeration!

It does make it all worth while to see a simple post used as information for Europeans who will be attending the Open Golf Championship at St Andrews. There will be plenty of them I'm sure.

For bloggers: Register with E-Blogs and there's a very good chance one of your posts will be personally translated into a European language. It's completely free so you've nothing at all to lose.

You've been translated into French and Italian! I must complain to them. They only translated a post of mine into French. It must be a scottish thing.

Auch FE, I've no answer to that. Have a wee word with them at E-Blogs. They're a very astute team and have an idea of what is of interest to various countries.

How I wish I was 30 years younger to do a job like that. I'd love it.

Are you being culturally devisive? ;)

@ Subrosa: Welcome onboard! Very glad to have you, and a variety of bloggers, opinions, styles, translated for European readers!

@ The Filthy Engineer: I'll see what I can do... But that was an excellent post we had translated ;-)

@ Oldrightie
And we haven't got any post of yours... yet. I hope we'll fix that soon and have one of your posts translated and read par les Français, Italiens, Allemands et Espagnols.

All is a complicated mixture of criteria, news, interests, etc etc etc. And yes, Subrosa, this is a fascinating job.
See you on Twitter

Congrats SR! Mind you, French & Italian - how low in the translation stakes can you sink? Now if it had been translated in to English.........

No seriously I jest, as I hope you realise and once again can only say congrats on that and well deserved!

Many of us south o' the border would be grateful to have some of your 'more-local' words & expressions translated into English!

Following on from Joe above ... how does one translate 'auch' into, well, any other language really?

OR, knowing laurent and his band of merry men and women, they won't be deaf for long.

subrosa said...

Many thanks laurent.

I know WFW, I know. The pages of the English dictionary on here are nearly worn out. It's a constant battle to write in a foreign language. Truly.

subrosa said...

Why thank you Dram. :)

subrosa said...

What I could do Joe, is to link to the Scots dictionary at the end of every post. Would that be satisfactory? ;)

subrosa said...

That is an interesting one Dick. It's the tone that requires a translation rather than the actual word perhaps or am I just blethering?

Lonfarchiadau as they say round here, you do have a Welsh dictionary don't you? It means Congrats!
You write a solid and informative blog which can be relied on to give one meat for thought, couldn't have happened to a nicer blogger! Well done you!

Alors, Madame la Blogueuse!

A pity though that the French do not know there is no such event as the British Open (cf The Alderman on TMS circa 1979. He went on about it for two sessions as I recall).

"L'Open britannique" - Zut!

subrosa said...

Auch Indyan, you can come back! Many thanks. :)

subrosa said...

Eh did Conan. Affy smert tae. :)

subrosa said...

Tcheuchter, the message is the same though isn't it? Don't take your mobile to the Old Course, St Andrews.

Joe Public said...

Conan - "bluggers" - so descriptive. But the English ain't got that monopoly.

subrosa said...

Aye Joe, like I say, he's smert. :)
