Australians are protesting loudly at the compulsory carbon tax which their government has introduced.

According to the Scottish Climate and Energy Forum 'Of all the countries in the world, Scotland seems to have the least debate about global warming'.  Why are we so accepting of what politicians say and other propaganda?

Scotland's politicians are slowly, but surely, driving the country towards an energy system composed of highly expensive - and often untested - renewable systems.

We need to make the best decisions for our future energy needs and SCEF's pragmatic stance is admirable.

I have just been looking at the way the vegetation is growing, isn't it amazing what a little extra CO2 and a lot of water can do for the planet.

When reading WUWT about the savannah the thought occurs that the rise of the CO2 levels on this planet are a natural occurrence and nothing to worry about; in fact we should be happy about it.   And more and more it seems that the planet is cooling slowly -  has been for the last twenty years and this is also part of the cycle of life on this dirt ball.

I wonder if the "scientists" and "politicians"  and the speculators in WWF ,IPCC and all the rest of the professional merchants of panic will ever face any inquiry, public or otherwise,  It will be interesting if it happens but too many of the great and good would be in the dock.

The idea that climate is ever "right" or "wrong" or stays the same is the usual PC crap, climate "IS", it changes as it wishes. 

Where did this idea come from that "we" could change things, look at the size of the planet, I was reminded of this......

Is Green Turning Yellow?

The floods in Australia have become a disaster similar to the floods which occurred in the same places back in 1974.

Toowoomba is built on a plateau.  At least 8 people were killed in the Toowoomba flash floods on Monday. A young journalist expressed his astonishment at the flooding there but floods in the south-east Queensland area are not uncommon.  This graph shows known floods in the Brisbane and Bremer River basin from 1848 to date.

As an aside, some years ago my local council addressed the issue of flooding in the town of Perth by spending millions on renewing flood defences. Yet home owners, who are stupid enough to buy property which is built on a flood plain, complained.  It is complicated.  The planning department allowed the building of homes on these plains and are now responsible so owners say.  Surely the purchasers of these properties looked into why the houses were so much cheaper than in other areas of the city.  But no, it was a sake of this modern attitude that every one of us, regardless of age or in many cases income, must own our homes and developers who insist that flood plains are safe, are believed over the common sense of the farmers and those who understand the land.

To date there have been at least 70 reported dead or missing in the Queensland disaster and resident Australians are beginning to point a finger at Australian's Environment Minister Peter Garratt who, in order to please the Green lobby, refused a planning application for a dam which would have helped protect from the floods.

Memory Vault states 'CO2 AGW madness has already taken hold'. Indeed.  The only people who care enough to prise their grip from their loaded coffers are the folk who they've denigrated in recent years.  That's the deniers.  Those of us who prefer to read widely and not accept the vast amount of propaganda messages which have been pumped into the public domain by others who have a self-interest in the CO2 scam.

AGW is unravelling.  The quicker the better - before the perpetrators are given carte blanche to bleed us dry with their 'green' taxes.

Prior to writing this most I spent some considerable time looking for comments -about our weather or that of Australia - from any of those experts who have been so assertive in their claims that the science is unequivocal.  I found none. I disregard the nonsense from the Met Office which has been well and truly scuppered by the likes of Piers Corbyn - people who don't rely on computers but nature.

The Green lobbies are silent.  They're perhaps quite content now that politicians are all for 'green taxes' - hidden taxes - no questions asked.  But of course there are other reasons for our ever-increasing energy bills.

This post is about the Australian floods but do realise in Brazil things are much worse, but owing to their political system it doesn't seem to matter.  What daffles me is that we spend more on overseas aid than any other country in the world yet it makes little or no difference to the vulnerable.

Shame on politicians world wide.  Do any of you know of a politician who is exposed to such disasters and has improved the lives of us voters?

I won't go into how candidates in any political party is selected, but more and more I'm thinking I would vote for an independent - as long as I agreed with around 50% of their policies.

Who Says AGW Isn't a Religion?

"What shall we do with the climate sceptics if they won't shut up?" ask the Sea Green Singers.  One of their solutions is: "Put them in the desert and ration their water", while another is: "Lock them in a room with nothing but money, see what good it does them".  Richard has another of their solutions - a quite horrifying one.

Who said AWG isn't a religion?  Whoever decided to upload this video maybe thought it was amusing. It's not.  I respect - although not necessarily agree with - anyone's opinion and their right to state it, but to advocate, and promote, violence to silence your opponents is several steps too far.

If I had more time I'd be tempted to write a seasonal carol in response.  Naturally it would include the meaning of Christmas.  Peace, goodwill and love to your fellowman.  Values the Sea Green Singers appear to have forgotten.

The government, as ever, is keen to ensure voices discussing AWG are silenced if they don't like what's said.  Fortunately one newspaper has published information from Britain's most experienced Arctic researcher.  "Forget about global warming - what most forecasters have failed to acknowledge is that Britain is on the cusp of a mini ice age," he says.  He admits global warming is fact globally but it's not fact in northern Europe. "Last year was the 14th coldest winter in Britain in 350 years yet globally it was the fifth warmest taken as an average across the planet."

Evidence is beginning to emerge slowly but the winter boots you may get from Santa could well turn out to be a good investment.

Global Warming

This is a photo of my back gate at dawn today. Looks lovely doesn't it. But that's not snow you see, it's solid ice. I didn't have the energy to clear the driveways and the paths on Sunday, so the paths lost out. No salt to be had anywhere accessible either but that may improve today.

Yesterday the temperature here never rose above -4 and last night it was -11. Today's going to be no better say the BBC.

A few years ago I had a Christmas gift of crampons which are supposedly easy to pull onto boots. Last night I dug them out of their hiding place (yes, surprisingly I remembered where they'd been shoved out of sight) and will see how effective they are as I'm off out to visit friends.
