A Record For Scots To Beat
The residents of Tula in Russia have beaten the world record for the largest bowl of porridge.
Their gigantic 865 kilo - nearly a ton - vat of porridge (kasha) was made to celebrate the city's name day. The previous record was set in England last year when a bowl was made from 630 kilograms of oats.
We celebrate Burns with haggis and neeps. Perhaps we should celebrate St Andrew's Day by producing the world's biggest bowl of porridge. Just a thought.

Into Loch Ness, tip 10,000 tonnes of Ready-Brek, and use 1 million of these:-

Wait for 2-summers' worth of sunshine & voilĂ - a new world record.
Forget the porridge SR, how about the biggest bowl of 'neeps'? If I organised a taxi for us I feel sure you and I could make a serious indentation of it's contents........?
Biggest bottle of whisky.
I volunteer to look after it.
Joe, ReadyBrek isn't porridge but I admit to preferring it when the family were young.
As long as it's accompanied by my butcher's haggis WfW. :)
There is a competition for that LI.I remember wandering around a distillery some years ago and they had their (failed) bottle proudly displayed. I think it was an island distillery who had won at that time.
