Reader's Choice - Double Delight

My thanks to wisnaeme for this week's soul food. Leonard Bernstein conducts the Bayerischen Rundfunk (Bavarian public broadcasting service) choir and symphony orchestra.  The concert took place in April 1990 in the Iglesia de Waldsassen de Alemaania.

Another of his favourites is Mozart's Laudate Dominum.  Details of this recording are below.

Recorded London 1967 with the Ambrosian Singers and the English Chamber Orchestra under Georg Fischer (who, incidentally, was Lucia's first husband)

Laudate Dominum omnes gentes;
Laudate eum, omnes populi.
Quoniam confirmata est
Super nos misericordia ejus,
Et veritas Domini manet in aeternum.
Gloria Patri et Filio et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper.
Et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.

Thankyou for posting this,Subrosa.
Anyone who wishes to further explore my choice in music may do so at wisnaemeincoventry on YouTube.

When my day's toil is done and my front closed on the world outside.
The fire roaring and cat stretched out in front of it with a full stomache of prime sliced turkey
... and myself fed with a glass of the finest those English monks can provide at Buckfast Abbey; slumped by the fire in my comfy armchair it's time to enjoy such as this music in the peace and tranquility of my own home.
As yon old sang says,"let the cares of tomorrow wait until this day is done".
Tom.

My pleasure Tom. There's music for every moment as many of us have found out over the years.

Rosie, I wanted to mention an effort that I and many of the other writers I know take part in. It is called:

Operation eBook Drop

We provide our eBooks free to any coalition troops who request them. Millions of eBooks have been sent to our troops and it's little enough with what our governments are putting them through. If anyone knows anyone deployed who might be interested in receiving eBooks--and a huge variety is available--please have them contact me and I'll be more than happy to get them on our list.
