UPDATE
My apologies but I've been just too occupied elsewhere to write a post this evening.
For those of you who were interested in the devolution post, (not forgetting the comments), Joyce McMillan has now put her column online. The Dog That Did Not Bark: Or, The Strange Silence of the SNP.
A worthwhile read.

Interesting post from Joyce McMillan Rosie. Jeez, the SNP must really have fallen into a deep sleep if even she's trying to give them the kiss of life..
I was suspicious about the SNP when Ms Sturgeon was always deader than a dead thing on any political programme.
And then Eckie hugged the Maldives president at the Copenhagen summit and told him not to worry as Scotland would build windmills and save his country from rising sea levels.
I suspect we've been fooled all along and the SNP are agents of the state sent to keep the jocks quiet while they hand us over to the EU.
Aye, I thought that may interest you Alex. :)
RM, we're in the EU unfortunately. Nicola Sturgeon is one of the best MSPs we have. Mind you ...
Yes 'Mind you...
Nicola marries a fat ugly baldy bloke with as much charisma as jackie Bird.
Gotta be a state agent. Would explain a lot......
Any truth in the rumour they played this at the 'wedding' ?

RM you must be young or of mature years. I say that because haven't you experienced the 'love is blind' syndrome.
I wouldn't know if they played that. I wasn't invited. :)
Actually it's a good song. Thanks.
I'm hitting 50 so will be away soon :)
But someone like Nicola. Nice body, brilliant job and excellent contacts marrying a big fat bloater screams ' intelligence services'
The article by Joyce McMillan merely articulates what most supporters of Scots independence are thinking about the SNP.
Its clear that the SNP will lose the next Holyrood election unless it wakes up from its self-induced political stupor.
Well RM, at your age surely you realise that love is blind, or have you become too cynical? Aye, you're well on the slippery slope right enough. :)
I think you're right M and yet the SNP, for all the warnings and advice it has been receiving recently, still hasn't installed a first class PR system to counter the false unionist claims.
Mmmm M, it might not be a bad thing to lose the next election and leave the labour muppets to clean up their own mess. On the other had, if the SNP can't make a realistic bid for independence now, when will it? One precondition would, as rightly pointed out, to have an efficient PR machine to wipe the floor with the uniionist biased MSM - no sign of that yet.
