A Chip Off the Old Bloke

He looks like his father doesn't he? Who is he? Let me introduce you to Will Straw, Jack Straw's 29 year-old son who was notorious for being caught selling £10 of cannibis to a tabloid journalist during his school days.

Yesterday, while his father was giving evidence at the Iraq Inquiry, Will Straw was giving an interview to the London Evening Standard.

He had a privileged upbringing and after university, a couple of years working in the Treasury and a two year stint in America he appears to be set up for a dominant position within the labour party.

He returned from America with a "new ambition to stand for Parliament." Blow me down with a feather! What a surprise.

With the help of £60,000 from a dozen investors, Will Shaw launched the labour website Left Foot Forward, allegedly from his kitchen. It is now the 17th most influential political blog according to Wikio.

Why did he need £60,000 to start a blog? Are his contributers being paid?

The article is worth reading though and he's obviously very fond of his Dad. Must give the lad some credit.

What!!!

£60,000 for a blog!!!

I’d settle for the price of a cup of coffee and a doughnut.

(Now that I’ve got that off my chest I just might read what he has to say.)

Careful John, my heart also beat a few times more than normal with the news.

We could be world-wide bloggers with half that money!

Shows how much the labour party are prepared to put into brainwashing the sheeple.

Hhmmmm! God Im so cynical Sb! lol

But for goodness sake! Isn't it funny - that no matter who their parents are - what party they align with - all the kids of Ministers/Prime Ministers always seem to do very nicely thanks very much!

Doesn't matter what they've done in the past - selling drugs - embezzling momney- they all end up top of their tree and loaded! ;-)

Sorry - me again! Just been over to his site. Not really impressed. More negative Tory-bashing-style tactics and and least 3 contributors on the 1st page. Run more as a business than a political blog I suspect - hence the 60K! (Miaow!!) lol

I'm sorry, Subrosa. This is a little piece of privileged shit utterly swamped in inherited nepotism. No problem, it's only a capital offense if the bastards are anything but Labour. Their spliffs are legal. I'm off to vomit.

So who would vote for a bug-eyed drug ealer?

subrosa said...

Aye TT, it's interesting how they're like clones. I suspect joining the labour party was his 'fast track' to money.

You're brave, I haven't visited his site yet. I purposely didn't link to it.

Clams, that's perhaps a more expressive title than mine.

subrosa said...

Edgar, I should have asked you for a title suggestion. :)

subrosa said...

Apogee, as I said to TT, I haven't had a look yet. I've other priorities. ;)

Glad to hear your opinion though.

subrosa said...

Don't get upset OR. But it does show that nepotism is alive and well.

Banned, I'm sure his mother loves him. There will be those who think he's wonderful. Let's see what labour do with him. They need all the yes men they can get.

Dear Will Straw,

Get a job!

Seriously, go get a proper job. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Alternatively, instead of America try digging some wells in Africa or inoculating kids in India... anything, just make it worthwhile.

Then, in about 30 years, when you've grown up a bit, actually done something with your life; come back and tell us how your worldly experience might benefit us. You know, the poor smuck you hope will one day pay for your comfortable index linked drift through the privileged corridors of power.

Now sod off.

Personally, I blame the parents!

And labour bash the tories about privilege.
