Over 10,000 of our troops are doing their best to keep themselves alive in the Afghanistan conflict while they await the outcome of the summit the PM has arranged for next Friday. There has been no government strategy for months now and our military have been left in limbo.
Another life was lost yesterday. A soldier from A Company 4 Rifles died following an explosion while on foot patrol near Sangin in central Helmand province. Another family's lives will never be the same again.
We have now lost 250 soldiers in Afghanistan. Lives which, along with those lost in Iraq, have been sacrificed to satisfy the egos of some of the most incompetent and egotistical politicians this country has ever known.
It's alleged a British company has been selling bogus bomb detecting equipment to the Iraqi and Afghani governments but let's not panic, Lord Mandelson is on the case.
Be warned, don't upset Muslim protestors.

The Mitty flogging the detectors has been arrested. I winder if our Government supplied licences?
No doubt a fully paid up member of the English Conservatives.
They will give him a Medal for his social entrepreneurship(and oldrightie will applaud him)
Even though I am against any possible racist content in the counter demonstration against those who were demonstrating, in Luton, against British Forces in Afghanistan (which, in a democratic country they are allowed to do). I hope that the magistrates understand the provocation by that Muslim(?) group to try an elicit just such a response to further their own cause.
I assumed they did OR otherwise why would it be referred to as a British company?
Niko, the boss is an ex-copper. Our police aren't all tories are they?
It'll be interesting to see the result of this trial Gedguy. Personally I think it's a complete waste of taxpayers' money.
