I had the pleasure yesterday morning of having a newspaper delivered to my hotel room and I'm still ploughing through it. Knowing there was a comprehensive list of MPs' expenses included I ordered the Telegraph.
Although it doesn't seem to be stated online, there is a list of MPs who have paid back monies to the Treasury. Dougie Alexander's statement reads:
Name: Douglas Alexander Amount: £12,600 For: Rent on property next to second home
We would never have known he had bought a property with a sitting tenant from that description. Makes him all the more devious doesn't it.

Go to page 20 of Gordon Brown's expenses for 2007-8 and you will see from the scribbled calculations that the Greatest Ever Chancellor cannot do his multiplication tables. To multiply by 2 he writes the number down twice and adds, and similarly for multiplication by 3.
Still wondering why the national economy is screwed?
Now that is a good one Vronsky. Do you think it deserves a post all of its own?
subrosa,
Which extremely courageous individual made the following statement?
"A majority of people are of the opinion that the actual election results are different than what was officially announced. The opinion of this majority should be respected..."
Was it?:
Douglas Alexander - Election Supremo.
Ali Larijani - Speaker of the Iranian Parliament.
Michael Martin - Speaker of the House of Commons.
Think carefully!
Morning Brownlie. Auch it's far too early for me to think far less carefully, but somehow a name just stands out doesn't it.
