Dear Mr Brown

Dear Mr Brown

I met you this morning but you ignored me, thankfully.  Why do you continue coming here for a photo call?  Are all the news photographers in the UK shunning you?  If so I can well understand the reason.

Do you and other politicians realise how inconvenient these 'moral boosting' visits are to us here in Afghanistan?  I truly do not think you have any idea and if you do then it's of little interest to you.

A number of soldiers, because of your 'impromptu' visit, had their R & R delayed.  They have been working every day for two months and really needed to get away from the smell of war and the taste of fear but no, that was not to be.  We had to be available to have breakfast with you, orders are orders.  Not only were these particular soldiers affected by your visit, the whole routine of the camp was upset because others were taken off normal duties recently to see to your security and travel arrangements.  There were your henchmen to be considered too with their numerous demands.

So all in all you've upset many hard working soldiers who are unable to tell you what they think because freedom of speech is denied them.  But I can tell you.  Politicians using our troops in this way is tantamount to abuse.  You and your ilk contribute nothing by visiting us.  Please stay away and let us perform our duties.

I heard this afternoon you have committed another 700 personnel to this war and this was agreed when you were playing host to your pal Obama. More lives to be put at risk in a hopeless war - how proud you must feel. I am proud too because I work with men and women who are totally dedicated to their jobs.  You are only dedicated to power Mr Brown and nothing else. Do not come back.  You are not welcome here.

This will not do. You are becoming like me. I beg of you. As a humble voter you must learn to treat our prime minister with respect during his remaining days in office.

He is Scottish after all!

subrosa said...

What a compliment Howard, thank you :)

Brown has lost his Scottishness, he's part of the London elite, or thinks he is. Anyway Howard his nationality has little to do with it, there are barstewards in every nation.

Woof, woof! Janet and Howard go forth in Afghanistan. I like it..

I just hope the smell of death surrounding Labour in all parts of the United Kingdom means they will not bother the rest of us for decades to come.

Me too Ted, me too.

SR,

Good one, however those 700 - we really need them, sorry but if we don't have them more of us will die.

As for Broon, he is not wanted in the Stan, those with lesser understanding of what's going on in UK politics will stand and smile, they're too busy fighting for each other and the "Corp/Reg".

Of course the military are happy to give up their rest and recreation for our esteemed Prime Minister. Why? - because he's worth it.

I am back.

Got off a plane on Sunday lunchtime from this very place.

Fuck you gordon and everything about you are your evil dirty group of co-horts.

Another great word verification....non sack......I kid you not.
How apt as i felt like i had my balls wrenched off at 1 point.

Sorry SR still not in good form yet!!!!

Perhaps the head-line should have read "Swine flew to Afghanistan"?

subrosa said...

CD, I don't grudge you any more colleagues if they're necessary. I detest the way Brown uses the troops though. That's not the behaviour of an honest man. There again, not many honest men in politics are there?

subrosa said...

Brownlie, nobody's worth your R & R believe me. Even when Royalty disrupted regiments with visits, R & R was respected. The benefit of Royalty visits was all toilets had a complete makeover :)

subrosa said...

Morning John, good to see you. Hey you're bike's looking fine I must say.

subrosa said...

Morning LotF. So good to see you're home safe and sound. Now enjoy your family and get the place out of your head for a while if you can.

No need for apologies LotF, no need at all.

On the "How Low Can This Hoon Go" topic

From The Mirror-on-line

"Gordon Brown has urged the whole country to fly the flag for national Armed Forces Day.

The Prime Minister called on schools, families and businesses to display a specially-designed standard for the first annual celebration on June 27.

The £10 flag, which measures 5ft by 3ft, has the Union Jack as its top half, while the bottom half is white, with "Armed Forces Day" inscribed in blue.

A proportion of the price will go to the military children's charity.

Mr Brown unveiled the new flag during his visit to Afghanistan, where he praised UK troops' "professionalism and bravery".

Words fail me, for the first time in a long time, well not since the World Cup in Argentina

If I bite the bastard do I risk getting Porcine Flu?

subrosa said...

Now Brownlie, you're sounding like your old self. Good one :)

subrosa said...

I missed that FC. Fly a flag for Gordon. He really doesn't get it does he? Power mania and corruption are his forte.

I will continue to fly a saltire as I've done for the past 20 years or so.

subrosa said...

I don't think so FC, more likely just a mouthful of hot air.

A great, pithy letter to Gordo.

I shamelessly copied the core of it onto my humble blog, under the heading "They don't want you either, Gordon": the more people that see how real folk feel, the better.

They just removed about 50, for want of a better word signatures, from it, but the subtle one that I did is still there...

You're more than welcome Furious. Good blog and the more we shout the better. For far too long we've had our heads in the sand.

subrosa said...

Ah I have a good idea which is yours Conan. Won't say of course because Jacqui Smith is reading this and I'd hate your alias to be blown :)

Mine Faux Cough was deleted but I take great comfort in knowing that the deleted signators will be ever more numerous than the permitted ones.

Brown just doesn't get it?

When the grinning jug eared idiot Blair made his first visit to Iraq he was so shocked he could not speak and had to be counselled. Apparently this was when he decided to convert to the church of Rome as they are supposed to worship a more forgiving God. I hope Blair, Brown, Hoon, Ingram, Reid and the rest of the cynical trough snuffler's that are up to their armpits in the blood of our warriors rot and burn in hell for all eternity.

Crazy Daisy, what the troops need is not more boots on the ground but proper air cover and communications equipment and armour to hold the line. They have been short changed badly by our politicians. The Americans can not believe how poor the UKs equipment is. This war is undefinable, and unwinable, these career politicians have not learned the lessons of history. Afghans are born into adversity, it is their way of life, they can fight with very little resources, and are fuelled on opium.

Good article Rosie, you have scored a bullseye.

Off topic but it appears that our rescued and nationalised banks are giving cheaper mortgages in Eire (the arc of insolvency anchorage point for Slab Murphy) than they do in the UK

Hmmm Billy, worth a post don't you think?

Muchas gratiados as they say in certain areas of Dundee.

KBW,

I take your point but I'm directly involved in the daily effort both here and the Stan, it is way too complicated and NATO ain't stumpin up as Bush and Balir's egoes wrote cheques their Armed Forces couldn't cash.

Being a Nationalist, Westmidden has never learned - they fucked up India, Malaya, Pakistan, Iraq and Afghanistan the first time around during the Empire (to name but a few); again their self appointed "I'm on the UN Security Council and important" attitude has seen to it that several Sons of Scotland and the UK have been sacrificed in the name of what?

Nothing - this is a total waste of money. All it provides is interoperability with the US and some NATO nations that feel they get something out of killing Taleban.

The focus should be on the communities within the UK who send their sons to "the old country" to learn to fight against the Establishment. Focus on equality of education and jobs, integration, speaking the same language, the cancer of illegal immigration unmanaged because it's all too difficult and expensive - Labour created it over 12 years and now we have to deal with it at home and on the battlefield 0 JOY!

I could go on and on and on but my tongue is hud by a certain law otherwise you'd hear things you wouldn't like to know.
