A Campaign Star in Training?

I follow Sarah Brown on Twitter.  When she joined Twitter a few weeks ago it was said she wanted to promote worldwide childbirth issues but more and more I feel she's gearing up to take a prominent role in UK elections.  Two tweets today are an example.

SarahBrown10@ ANGIEANDMIKE of course Cardiff is great too (my grandfather from there) but couldn't do it all in one day! Another time

SarahBrown10Visit to Swansea - always meet great people in Wales, this time no exception, great warm welcome.

Of course she featured in the Glenrothes by-election but it wouldn't surprise me if she was aiming for even higher heights.

Who was it who said, "I would never use my family for political purposes," again?

I hate to disappoint Sarah, but her husband may not be leader at the election.

Very true Howard, perhaps she's paving a way similar to Hilary?

Great post, Janet! I'm going to use this if you don't mind.(I know I don't usually ask.....)

Ted you know you're always welcome to take your pick. It's a compliment thank you :)

She has to share a bed (apparently) with Gordon Brown. Give her a break, she must be in hell.

Actually, Sarah looks quite do-able in that photo. Amazing what camera trickery can do.

I took ages to find it gigits and she's at the photo shoot for where some hunk is either putting on or taking off jeans. Amazing what airbrushing does too isn't it.

I'll bet a pound to a penny there are two double beds in their room and she always goes earlier than him, spreads herself across hers and he has to use the other one. That's if she has sense she'd do that!

The thought crossed my mind scunnert but I didn't put it in the post because some unionists may think I was being bitchy. As if!

Morning Sub R

Looks like Broon completely flucked up the "meeting" with Cameroon and Rosa Klegg with fist clunking panache vis a vis MPs expenses

Better than that is that MPs are in a blind panic over their expenses being published soon.

Rumours are of one MP who has claimed for 4 flat screens etc etc etc

But here is a cracker from Glasgow Eastish.

A Government Whip has his wife as X Secretary, his son as Principal Researcher and his other son in charge of the family business, a pub in Glasgow's East End.

Why do we need to read this in English based newspapers. This whole slease and expenses story has been abroad since the Glasgow East election and naer a whisper for the Scottish Press.

Corrupt and corrupted?

It would be interesting to examine the accounts of this charity. Check out the board - all NuLab, and we know their record of using charities as fronts for their own funding operations. Anyone know how to access these accounts?

Very interesting Subrosa. I've often thought (and I believe it has been mooted) that she's quite a powerful in Numer 10. I'm reading his biography at the mo. and it has implied a few times, that he could not relate to women easily on a personal level without there being some kind of political 'meeting of minds.' I think she's another Labour wolf in sheep's clothing (I too follow her.) Not to be trusted - and always with cunning plans afoot! ;-)

Morning FC. Thanks for that link, do hope others read it. You don't really think the present Scottish press would report something like that surely, do you FC? Do tell me you're not in fairyland.

ps G V has disappeared?

Sad because liked the stuff he did

Poor website Vronsky and I'm sure you're aware efficient charities list their funding on their websites. That makes me wonder too.

Can't you access the charities website and find it, similar to the companies website?

Another reader will possibly be far more helpful.

Ah TP it takes us women to suss these things out doesn't it? I don't think we're far wrong either. Haven't read much about her at No 10 but she'll be practising there too no doubt.

Once he's booted out, wonder what seat she'll stand for? A safe one of course.

Jings FC calm down, your blood pressure must be sky high.

Aye I read that. Now you must make allowances for Tessa, she's a separated woman still grieving for the breakup of her marriage to her wonderful criminal husband.

ORIGINAL DOWNING ST SMEARS VICTIM
RETURNS TO HAUNT NEW LABOUR

Thatcher Room
Portcullis House
Tuesday 28 April 1.45pm
Formal Evidence Session on UK Complicity in Torture
Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights
Witness: Craig Murray, former British Ambassador to Uzbekistan
(currently Rector of the University of Dundee).

In 2004, Craig Murray told us that:

• The British Government was complicit in the most vicious forms of torture
• He had been the victim of a lurid smear campaign initiated by New Labour
• The government was lying about all this

In 2004, much of the public and media was not willing to accept that the government would cooperate with torture or with false allegations against an innocent man. Many still had trust in the basic honesty and decency of government.

The evidence that Craig Murray was telling the truth about torture has now become overwhelming, including from the case of Binyam Mohammed. The UK “benefited” continually from intelligence passed on from the CIA waterboarding programme and from torture in countries including Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Egypt.

Craig Murray suffered the most high profile sacking of any British Ambassador for a century. But in 2005 the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee refused to hear him in evidence, despite allowing Jack Straw to appear and attack him.

Astonishingly, this is the first time Craig Murray will ever have been allowed to give formal evidence in the UK on his grave allegations, and be questioned on the truth of his testimony.

As the Scotland Yard investigation proceeds into MI5 and MI6 collusion in 16 cases of torture, Craig Murray will argue that it is not the security service operatives, but the Ministers who set the policy – and specifically Jack Straw – who should be facing criminal charges.

Contact: Craig Murray on 07979 691085 or craigmurray@mail.ru
Transcript of Craig Murray's formal evidence statement is at http://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2009/03/trying_again_my.html

Sarah Brown probably won Glenrothes for Labour - she was on the doorsteps with the candidate in a series of staged visits (one in my village) which were lapped up by the media. One way of getting around a lack of local activists, but not really sustainable during a general election campaign!

subrosa said...

I'm sure she did Jess. It was a very well managed (and if I remember slightly too well managed) PR stunt from her.

I should have realised then that she wanted to be the Uk equivalent of Hilary Clinton.

McGonagall said...

Postal votes won Glenrothes - nothing else.

subrosa said...

You'll not be surprised by this morning's post then scunnert. More postal voting fraud in Edinburgh East.
