How would you feel if the toxic waste from the London Olympics site was transported, for processing or disposal, to a landfill site near Falkirk? It is thought there will be between 8,000 - 10,000 tons of waste. Not a pleasant thought it is, but it is going to happen by all accounts (or it may well already be happening), because the dumping of such waste was banned in England and Wales after 30 June 2008 and the date of the SEP disclosure log is December 2008.
FOI applications have uncovered the evidence and you can read about it here on the SEPA website. If you click the link at the bottom of the page you will be able to read all the FOI correspondence.
I wonder what the Scottish government did about this.
Credit to Traquir from the Scotsman forum.

36,000 tonnes of hazardous waste being sent to Scotland! WTF is that about??? Having read through the correspondence I am staggered. English and Welsh landfill sites will not accept this waste so it's to come north to Jockland where we're dumb enough to take their shit?
Also noted that some correspondence was NOT released. Wonder why?
Good find Subrosa. Had read about this last year from a nat poster - can't remember which one - on the Scotsman. It didn't seem credible at the time. But now - I am outraged.
I heard about it last year sometime scunnert then Traquir mentioned it recently so I thought I'd do some research. This is my findings, hellish eh?
Dump it outside No 10 it will make the outside as toxic as the inside.
Why not pester the snake Murphy with it see what his answer would be.
Wise we could cynical. Just shows how abused we are and they try to hide it. I don't know who applied for the FOIs but they deserve credit.
Subrosa, I am horrified at this behaviour. Anyone would think Snotty wants you to hate us English as much as he does. Blame him and his crony Civil Service, not us Jock loving Unionists!
Mind you, you did send us that toxic Snotgobbler and his mates, so you might say we're even.
OR, come and live in Scotland! Mind you your gardener perhaps wouldn't like it :) I wouldn't say we're quits though would you? The way things are going there are quite a few Scots who would want to see him alongside his toxic waste at Falkirk.
Subrosa, as ever, bless you! I just stumbled on this and wonder if McBride has been given a new role?
"The SNP is an angry rhetorical party short of ideas and fuelled by resentment as well as the ambitions of a few driven individuals."

Well, we'll see if you're prepared to publish this.
http://www.sepa.org.uk/about_us.aspx
"SEPA is a non-departmental public body, accountable through Scottish Ministers to the Scottish Parliament. SEPA has been advising Scottish ministers, regulated businesses, industry and the public on environmental best practice for over a decade."
So if this supposedly heinous thing happens (and another way of looking at is profitable work for a Scottish business), then it will be with the approval of your beloved SNP "government".
sm753 What's this about 'we'll see if you're prepared to publish this'? Unless something is spam or has language of which I don't approve, I'm perfectly happy to publish everything.
My beloved snp "government'? Really that's quite aggressive language but I'll ignore the undertones in your comment.
Be assured further enquiries are being made if that is of any interest to you.
Many thanks for that OR. There's discussion on Jeff's blog (SNP Tactical Voting) about Saeed and the Quillian Organisation. Personally I think little of either but I suppose I ought to be more aware of what's going on. The Quillian Organisation received £1m from the labour government last year according to Jeff.
Have a wee read of his post OR http://tiny.cc/6jKSZ
Hyde park is about a 3rd of the size of Falkirk, excellent location for Englands toxic waste.
What I can't understand is why wasn't this material banned throughout the UK. Gordon Brown keeps telling us we're all equal partners...
Subrosa,
If Ministers ARE aware which Holyrood Government sanctioned it the SNP? I'll put money on it was sanctioned and approved by the Labour/Lib Dem coalition; and there will be other toxic waste not just this 36k T - makes your stomach churn, what I want to know is what the feck is in it that makes it toxic? We need to know exactly what's being buried and where.
Bit like Northern Ireland and Capania in Italy - corrupt farmers/mafioso/criminals - AM2 will know plenty about these....being one of them and probably supports the dumping too incompetent Orangeman.....
CD
Will David Starkey be included?
Subrosa - apparently SM753 is unaware that you, like many of the nat bloggers, are quite prepared to criticize the SNP government if you think they're wrong. The forrest thingy comes to mind.
They are under the mistaken impression that we are sycophants just because they are. The reality is, of course, that we nationalists hold the interests of the nation above the interests of the party.
"sm753 What's this about 'we'll see if you're prepared to publish this'?"
Well, the header of your comments page says you're moderating comments due to attempts by "am2 to spoil your blog", and you all seem to think I am he.
It's pretty simple.
You're all fulminating about a difference in waste disposal policy between Scotland and England.
Waste disposal policy is devolved.
So if the SNP wants to ban this disposal, it can.
What is the problem?
Who would be responsibe for banning it in Scotland? Would it be Edinburgh Parliament or Spud's wee office?
It's probably what Jowell was talking about when she said that Scotland would benefit equally from the Olympics. I hope if it comes here, we charge them a lot of money.
SM753... Can I ask why you put government in quotes? Were you quoting from something?
According to sm it's the Scottish government ministers tris so an email to Mike Russell would be no bad thing. At least he'd put us on the right road.
Sm753 you're paranoid. My comment moderation does not say that - can't you read? It says '...due to some fool calling himself Scottish Unionist...'. Where does it say am2? I don't have a clue who you are and I'm not really interested in wasting my time answering your petty points.
Exactly scunnered and I really have more to do with my time than communicating with someone who has so many personal grievances.
Howard I am quite sure there are plenty English folk who have plans for David Starkey. I heard, on the grapevine, something to do with a walk in a park. No evidence of course and it is hearsay.
CD have a look at the link to SEPA then scroll down and link to the PDF. The SEPA communication is dated December 2008 so it does involved the SNP government.
"Sm753 you're paranoid."
Actually, I've just realised an apology is due.
If you've had problems with the fake "Scottish Unionist" - gay porn is normally the clue - then you have my sympathies.
Back on topic, i.e. this business of the possible disposal of waste from the Olympic site to a landfill near Falkirk.
It came up in 2008, i.e. after the SNP were in charge.
It is a devolved matter - SEPA make the decisions, and they report to Holyrood.
So if this stuff arrives, it will be with SNP approval. And Avondale Environmental Ltd will make money out of it, which you may think is a good or a bad thing.
As for why the EA in England has banned the stuff while SEPA hasn't, I have no idea. But again, that is a "Scottish" SEPA decision.
Now I'm happy to exempt you personally from this, but some of the responses here and at the Hootsmon (e.g. from "Traquir") illustrate the cringing delusional paranoia which so annoys me about CyberNats.
No-one bothers to check the facts. Instead, the instant conclusion is drawn and proclaimed that "London" / "Westminster" / "England" / "the Union" is "dumping this stuff on us".
No. It is up to an agency of the Scottish Government to decide whether or not to allow a Scottish business to take on this stuff, at a profit.
At least Traquir's stopped claiming the stuff is radioactive, which I guess is a small improvement.
Sm 753 I accept your apology.
Yes I know the responsibility of SEPA etc but I would like to know if this material is presently being moved here and the reasons why England and Wales banned it.
The answers will hopefully arrive within the week. One thing the SNP are good at is answering correspondence reasonably quickly.
SR,
Thanks, too shabby the other day to read in full, think I'll send a wee e-mail to the Scottish Government. This must stop NOW; and as I'm a Scottish citizen and pay a monthly contribution I have a right to be heard like you!
CD
I've sent an email to Mike Russell asking for an update CD.
Hmmm...
Call me cynical, but I have a feeling that if our beloved Scottish government decided we can do without this waste, it might just be portrayed in the Scottish press as the SNP picking more fights with Westminster.
Hello voice, welcome from another cynic.
