Another Question Mark over Postal Voting

Most of my UK readers will recognise the man in this photo as Tony Booth, father of Cherie Blair.  The woman is the third Mrs Booth who has had a lifelong desire to serve the UK as an MP (if you believe that then...).  I know this is little to do with Scottish politics directly but the labour party held their selection ballot last night.

Guess who won?  The result was astonishing even for the local paper and it was the postal votes 'what swung it', a bit like Glenrothes.  Have a read of the Daily Mail article.  It goes to show the labour party make rules, break rules and treat even their own with contempt.  As for the union Unite they sicken me.

H/T to OldHolborn

Editor's note:  I should have mentioned Stephanie Booth is standing for the Calder Valley seat in West Yorkshire.  Apologies for the omission and thanks to Events dear boy, events for bringing it to my attention.

I've just googled her John. Speak about a 'shoo in'. No morals at all within the labour party but we know that don't we.

I see the Mirror have her nomination a good slating. Must be bad when the Mirror goes against anything labour.

It never ends with this lot. Corruption is business as usual for them. Postal votes should be outlawed.

You know my fears about postal voting/Labour fraud. Makes those emails almost tame. Postal voting should be scrapped and now.

Scunnert, can't other political parties ban postal voting and also that other thing wide open to fraud - electronic counting?

What is it going to take for an investigation into Glenrothes and these constant postal voting issues with Labour, why has Glenrothes droppped of the radar?

Labour have form on this, not once but several times. The Scottish elections were an affront to democracy, even if the SNP formed a government. Is there no body that will investigate these elections without prejudice?

How do we go about having it scrapped though Oldrightie? There is a certain percentage of people who genuinely can't manage to a polling station for some reason, but their vote can't be denied them.

I just don't know KW, it doesn't seem as if the political will from any of the other parties is there does it? Plus of course I'd like to know more about this posting voting form from Ireland. Not heard a cheep.

Labour make things up as they go along entirely to suit themselves and they'll get their come-uppence next year! ;-)

They will indeed TP but really the postal voting matter and also the use of these electronic counting machines do need to be thoroughly investigated. After all, Neil Kinnock has an invested interest in the company which produces the electronic counting machines ...

Subrosa,

Stinks to high heaven, read this during the afternoon at work - bad boy! I was talking to a bud of mine who used to tail counting buses in Dundee for the SNP, the route was rather elongated and who could tell WTF was going on in the bus during counting enroute - or more blatantly stuffing the ballot boxes with illegal ballots?!! LABOUR = CORRUPTION

I know from experience that it would be simple to have a worm or any other smart software hidden in the programming of these machines, just ask my friends at CESG in GCHQ they'll tell you....oooops gpt carried away!

The point I'm making is never trust machines, they're designed, built and programmed by humans! And anything Kinnock has to do with stay the fuck away from - another Labour twat with the personality and gravitas of a curlywurly and as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike!

have a good evening madame!

CD there's something seriously going wrong with our voting system these days. It doesn't appear to be democratic. I do wish the SNP would continue to push for an enquiry into the Glenrothes matter. At least then it would be brought to the public's attention rather than just something spoken about on the web.

You too CD.

Yeah any election which don't produce a snp/conservative win must be bent....

Get a life...

I thought it was a rather spritely looking Ming Campbell - shame on me!

Evening Niko. I have rather a pleasant life thanks. It's been proven voting fraud is rampant, just google it.

Two instances of vote rigging in one day. There is no end of the lesson for Labour.

Oh FL, I think you ought to get your money back from Specsavers. Mind you, when I look again there is a slight resemblance...

Howard they won't learn. They'll continue with their dirty tricks until they're kicked out of office for a generation.

I have linked to your post having spotted the other one.

Thanks Howard, have done the same in my note. It was my fault, I should have named her constituency.
