Outstanding.

Joe & Subrosa – you are herewith fully authorised to put this wonderful idea to all relevant authorities currently engaged in the Beauly to Denny power line.

ha ha nice one...although with the cost of 'modern art' it would still be cheaper to bury the cables like they did for the 3 week Olympic games etc.

I was sent the image by a colleague, and presumably it's a PhotoShopped Concept.

However, there's probably no intrinsic reason why it couldn't be a technical solution to the visually-abhorrent conventional pylons needed to connect those eyesore windmills to the National Grid.

Heck, they could even become a tourist attraction.

My guess is they'd even be less expensive than buried cables.

Sound piece of lateral thinking and in the 'right' place the would certainly add interest instead of the blots of utility.

But for the B to D line I still consider the incorporation of a service duct during the A9 upgrade to an ice free M9 is the answer.

Do the antlers fall off in winter?

I think it's a brilliant concept and as Joe says, a tourist attraction.

Imagine such an image on a Scottish tourism brochure? A definite winner.

Come to think of it, they could also reduce youth unemployment because it would involve quite an army of steel workers to produce the things. Another plus.

I certainly think Joe ought to send it around JRB.

I just love that. Brilliant. That's where the money from my utility bills should be spent.

I'm trying to persuade Joe to distribute it more widely Jon.
