Today's Non-Story

Donald Trump has offered to buy the lower Manhattan site where a Muslim group plans to build an Islamic community centre for 25% more than the current owners paid for it.

Trump made the offer yesterday in a letter to Hisham Elzanaty, an investor in the Islamic centre.

"I am making this offer as a resident of New York and citizen of the United States, not because I think the location is a spectacular one (because it is not), but because it will end a very serious, inflammatory and highly divisive situation that is destined, in my opinion, to only get worse," he wrote.

He further stipulated, as part of the offer, that if a mosque is to be built, "It would be located at least five blocks further from the World Trade Centre site."

Trump said he would pay cash for the site "with an immediate closing." There was no immediate response from Alzanaty.

Could it be that Trump will learn there are some things money can't buy?

As much as I dislike this guy, if he were to achieve this aim, I would applaud it.

He may learn that the Islamic objective of this project to cause conflict can't be stopped.

The booking burning incident typifies the mood of these barbaric people. There have been riots worldwide because of a redneck, nobody Pastor.

There are plenty of people in the US who would be just as barbaric if Islamics were to do the same with their Bible.

If the press were to be so eager to report the fact that Dr Judy Wood and Dr Morgan Reynolds are suing the US government and over 20 US companies and individuals for putting out lies with regard to 911 along with their evidence instead of the numpty Pastor then people would realise how much they are being conned and that 911 was nothing to do with terrorists.

He's a PR man through and through OR but good luck to him - and his golf course up here.

Sue the man's a nutcase and it's such a pity the heads of Islam can't ignore his stupidity and tell their people the same.

Numpty pastor? Good one Billy. Someone said today Pastor Bye.

I have no time for the jumped up rump Trump who thinks that his money can rule over anything at all for his own ego.

It's a shame he lacks a pleasant personality. If he did have one then it would be a great advantage.

Donald Trump's attempt to quell the drama surrounding the potential building of a mosque and Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero has been rejected.

Well, what a surprise, NOT.

Many thanks for the link Sue. I hadn't realised any response had been forthcoming.

Now Trump can add that to his CV - his attempt to 'save' NY was rejected.
