The New Shadow Chancellor - according to BB

According to Benedict Brogan, who is perhaps one of the more accurate political forecasters, one name doing the rounds in the Labour party for the post of shadow chancellor is Jim Murphy (pictured).

Mr Brogan describes him as hard-nosed, modern and young (enough).

I'll keep my own adjectives to myself.

That man is like nails on a blackboard to me.

I doubt Scotland will forget how Labour bragged about unemployment going down while in Scotland it was going up and Murphy certainly didn't have the empathy Mike Moore does for the situation.

Bring the miscreant on.

I know how you feel Caron. He's like a red rag to a bull to me.

I just hope he doesn't get it bugger. It's only a matter of months since I took delight in deleting my collection of his mug shots.

I think 'hard nosed' should have been 'brown nosed'. Remember him sitting beside the gorgon nodding frantically at everything the former Dear Leader said at PMQ's.
After RedEd's speech yesterday I saw Spud pushing himself to the front 'again' as RedEd was speaking to the doting BBC reporters and thought 'aye aye Spud's back'.

Murphy? That should create a few Irish jokes then?

I remember RM. Thankfully I didn't see his actions on the BBC.

If only he had an ounce of Irish charm John.

Surely all of this bunch are the new generation? A new generation of incompetent ****wits and careerists. Their career path is determined by how high up in the earnings stakes of The EU they can go. Look at Lord Pederast of Brazil, £8000 a month unless he finds a better paid slot elsewhere. Our Jim will be eying a similar sinecure.

They say that laughter is the best medicine -
… and this little snippet certainly had me laughing the while.

But then came that nasty bitter aftertaste you get with most medicines –
… this just might happen.

The future suddenly takes on a whole new frightening prospect.

Won't Ed need a few Scots to impress the Scottish party faithful next May despite the Peter Principle being an unknown concept in Labour politics.

He does seem to be pushing himself forward as RM says John. Tris has a photo on his post:

Don't forget OR, Murphy has had a taste of the excesses of the EU. He must be feeling the pinch now his posh Scotland Office is now rented by A N Other.

Clarinda, that was said to me this morning. Made me even more despondent!

I have to say that I think the idea of Britain having another Scottish chancellor would not go to down to well in England.

Lest we forget, Britain is going down the tubes and Brown is getting the blame..

Whether he is Scottish or not should have absolutely no bearing on public opinion. The fact is that Scotland returns MPs to the Westminster parliament and the coalition currently wielding the axe across the Welfare State and the public sector came third and fourth in Scotland.

Far more alarming is that he is utterly unqualified for the role of Chancellor, having failed to finish a Politics & European Law degree or any other higher educational qualification. He has done nothing since the age of 16 other than seek power as a careerist politician - this he has excelled at.

He is largely devoid of idealogy and is one of the most ambitious, ruthless and uneducated politicians even of this generation.

Mmm

There is also another axiomatic law called Murphy's Law.

What can go wrong , notwithstanding the statistical improbability will come to pass.

When combined with the Peter Principle we have a unprincipled law particular to Nesferatu.

The Unprincipled Jim Murphy Law.

London..

You forgot his 'questionable' expenses claims. His habit of maxing out on his allowances meant he once had to spread his costs between years. He built his new bathroom between 2 financial years so that he wouldn't overspend and lose out on mortgage payments , council tax, utilities, phone bills etc.....
He claimed £12.98 for a bathroom mirror which is a bit strange for a 'Skull'.

RMcGeddon...

Murphy has been playing fast and loose with expenses since his time at NUS. There were rumours from way back when that his rent was being paid thanks to fake expenses signed off by staff members and the NUS Scotland leadership team. A decent journo could have a field day with Murphy and his 'expenses'... Knows how to play the system for sure.

I heard tell that Murph was a plant, not by Labour but..........

He never graduated (allegedly) but sailed upwards and onwards without any hint of restraint.

You fill in the blanks

JuliaM said...

I've never heard of this bloke! Face isn't familiar either.

Is that Red Ed's plan? Find people no-one in the south has ever heard of?

RMcGeddon said...

London...

Yes. If you google him there are lots of trails to follow for someone who can be bothered.

Bugger...

I found out he was part time barman and like you said doesn't seem to have graduated. Oh and he supports Celtic. Probably safer not to try and fill in the blanks ;)

There are lots of LEGO bits which don't seem to fit for Nesferatu.

Whit !!!! Lurch is gonna be *^***.

That's one hell of a cruel joke that is, one that will cause us all considerable pain and is no laughing matter to be sure.

subrosa said...

Yes we mustn't forget that Alex. I've no idea who he's choose - some say Ed Balls. Who knows.

subrosa said...

I completely concur with your last sentence London Scot.

subrosa said...

Oh he's not a daft man by any means London Scot. Murphy is cunning.

subrosa said...

Oh dear Julia, he was head of the Scotland Office during Brown's reign.

He sure made an impression on you. :)

subrosa said...

I've heard he's desperate to get a place on the front benches Dram. Scary isn't it.

subrosa said...

Maybe he should be appointed Climate change man wisnaeme. These folk say anything they want these days because they know they've been rumbled.

Jim Murphy is VERY pro-Israel.

- Aangirfan.

Subrosa...

Totally agree - he is as sleekit as they come and a total street fighter. Murphy makes Blair look like he has principles... a very dangerous sociopath. Rather have him for you than agin you!

subrosa said...

Of course he is Aangifran. He has the Glasgow Jewish community as part of his constituency I think.

subrosa said...

Well said London Scot. A chancer some would say.

He comes from Terry Kelly country so maybe he picked up some tips...
