Postal Voting Must Cease

A few days ago I wrote about postal voting fraud so I'm not going to reiterate my opinion.

It has just been announced on BBC West Tonight that an investigation into postal voting irregularities covering Oldham, Greater Manchester, Rochdale and Preston have been initiated by Greater Manchester and Lancaster police.

Just in case some of you haven't seen the Express today a headline reads: 'Thousands affected by postal voting fiasco'.

The report suggests tens of thousands could lose their right to take part in the election after the system was thrown in chaos.

Having watched last night's episode of Dispatches, I now know we have international overseers brought here specifically to observer voting. Over the years the have said the UK system is more wide open to fraud than most.

Yet they will permit the corrupt practice of postal voting to continue (or not in the case of those who won't receive their papers in time).

Meantime, a journalist investigating postal vote fraud is beaten up in London.

That's British democracy for you.

Fitaloon has his take on the subject.

Hey. I cast mine entirely legally without misprision, threat or reward. But you have no way of proving that.

That's Labour corruption for you. Import their voters with an open door policy and then destroy the voting system in their favour. This has all been done on purpose.

Notice all the areas (including the London Boroughs), are all immigrant areas.

No, I'm not being racist, it's the truth!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is a high correlation between Pakistanis/Bangalis and postal voting fraud. It's not just a Labour or Respect thing, Conservative and Lib Dem councillors of the Asian Persuasion have been involved as well. Some people just have no respect for democracy.

There's a rumour going around that the return of the ash cloud will prevent the troops votes from being counted. How convenient for Labour if so.

Seems like all the phantom voters are from Bangladesh, SR, and I'm not being racist either.

Nothing this rotten Labour government does surprises me any more - in fact, in every case you could possibly imagine, just think of the worst case scenario and that will be exactly what they are doing!

I dread some of the postal vote counts in Scotland now. Labour are desperate and will play dirty to win power.

Really?

Good grief!

Mind you, it's no surprise, not after the Glenrothes fiasco.

True SE. Nobody asks for identification at the polling station and, even though I take my polling card with me it's still not proof it's me.

subrosa said...

No it's not being racist Sue. It's common knowledge.

I believe there are areas of Pakistan where Bengalis live and who are able to vote here Mark. They're being targeted with postal vote papers.

I've said all along QM that soldiers on the front line won't have enough time to do a postal vote or a proxy vote.

Of course a proxy could or should have been arranged in advance but that can't happen with postal voting.

It's said around 6,000 military will be affected.

subrosa said...

I know Allan. They always play dirty though - labour that is.

Mrs R, if you can, try and watch the Dispatches programme that was on Channel 4 on Monday. It spells it out about the foreign observers.

subrosa said...

Since Glenrothes BS nothing surprises me with them. Rotten through and through.

Perhaps that nice Mr Mugabe might care to send us some observers, the ones with machetes seem to be very effective.

subrosa said...

Is that the same Mr Mugabe who wants CallMeDave to be elected banned?

This (amongst many other things) is what New Labour hath wrought.

I fervently hope we throw the rascals out tomorrow.

But I am not very optimistic.

I think Cameron may just scrape it Yachtsman. Fingers crossed.

The ARRSE poll is still showing no voting papers received in AFg ... I sincerely hope that isn't accurate - there must be enough people in KAF or Bastion with access to the internet to contribute. There are also problems with troops in Germany getting votes back - BFPO was probably ineffective from Thursday evening, the Bundespost from Friday (3rd May being a German holiday too.)

The news I've had is that it's true SE. I'm now told at least 8,000 votes won't be made.

If these accounts of electoral duplicity and fraud have any basis in fact, then we do not have a democracy of any fashion but a totalitarian state that manufactures consent by engineering the will of the people.

This charade of an election has probably exposed more than any previous campaign the role of media and it's overt and covert alliances with the political gamesters.

For any being capable of independent thought the game of moving goalposts, sloping playing fields, elastic revocable rules and multi choice results has less integrity and relevance to real democratic governance than a game of Monopoly played by four card sharks, all high on drugs.

Here's a good question to ask the contenders.

Ask not how much we're in debt or what the interest rate and term is.

Ask what and who it is that has all this money to loan to us - and to practically all the countries of the world?

Must be a few out there who are beyond the avarice of Croeses. Or is all this talk of cuts and austerity just another control scam ratcheting another notch towards the mind set of subjugation?

RA, I'm going shopping shortly and have noted your questions. If I meet any PPC I'll ask them and will let you know the replies.

Labour to halt postal vote fraud but only after election
By Jill Sherman and Dominic Kennedy

LABOUR is planning to legislate to stop cheating in postal voting immediately after the general election in spite of repeated assurances from ministers that the present system is safe, The Times has learnt.

The disclosure will embarrass the Government, with critics pointing out that it is happy for the system to be used in the general election, even though it is clearly flawed enough to require speedy legislation.

It will prompt charges that the Government failed to act sooner because it was worried that a shake-up of the laws might affect its own vote. An estimated 15 per cent of votes on May 5 will be by post.

Reforms are likely to include a new offence of fraudulently applying for a postal vote and the publication of lists showing who votes by post so that people can check if impostors have stolen their ballot papers.

The measures have become a priority as Labour was thrown on the defensive over the issue. Two judges in the past week have said that the system was wide open to fraud after scandals in Birmingham and Blackburn, where Labour stole thousands of people’s postal votes in local elections.

Should that not be shoplifting Subrosa you being from Dundee and all that?

Only kidding!

subrosa said...

Shame on them scunnert, 5 years later and nothing done.

What a disgrace to democracy.

subrosa said...

Billy, when I was a wee lassie in Dundee you wouldn't have dared to shoplift.

Why?

Because you knew your parents would find out and that punishment would be worse than the law could give.

BAFF report that postal voting in Afghan seems to have been relatively successful. But the 760 registered through the special scheme for OP HERRICK is only about 8% of those deployed - many more may have registered under the normal scheme.

In better news, Mrs S-E checked my vote had been received and counted. I just hope they counted it correctly!

I wonder if we'll ever find out how many missed out SE. True, many more are the usual system.

Good. What a super woman you have there. I'm going shortly and I'll make sure there's nothing untoward against mine. Then this is a small place, labour aren't in the running.
