Remember this Question Time when the tories flew in Nadine Dorries to Glasgow where she faced a Scottish audience? For me it showed exactly how little the tories respect Scotland when she didn't have even the slightest understanding of the Trident issue.
Advice to tories: Do your homework before you make any attempt to preach to the Scots. We're smarter than you think.
I think Nadine forgets that George Dubya had no idea who Bin Laden was enev when his country has under attack, never mind 20 years before. Especialy as his cabinet was quite content to blame Saddam Hussein until... well some solid evidence came along that it wasn't.
Someone should show this to Sturgeon and co to show them that THIS is what they should be doing, rather than the (IMO) bleating from the sidelines about "The Leaders Debates" which they have been doing since Wednesday.
Nadine really is just showing off the staggering depth of her ignorance.
It would be funny if it was not so sad.
And another thing , why are they so terrified of a hung parliament ? Dave and co whining that they would have to debate every bill and argue over the details...... isnt this what we pay them to do ? Instead of frogmarching legislation in using the party whips.
Hung parliament seems to work pretty well in Holyrood.
Rightwinfgit, I see what you mean. My comment was in the hope that Scots are wakening up to the dross which has pretended to 'serve' them over the years.
Dross is only good for one thing - to keep the fire going overnight. Labour are the experts at that having their background associated with the Kremlin (in the case of Gordon Brown).
It's not just sad Sandy, it's a real insult to the folks north of the border for the tories to think they could send a female (albeit one who looks reasonable) here to answer questions.
Looks like a really bad edition of QT. And David Steel, who has never done anything worthwhile in his political life (that I can think of), is still getting to express his opinions.
Actually, Nadine is right, but she didn't express it well. We need to be armed to deal with any circumstance and that includes having nukes. Sad, but true. And mutually assured destruction seems to work.
And I think people who imagine that the money would otherwise be spent on the NHS and education are kidding themselves.
Stewart, what's the point in having Trident when we can't use it without the authority of the US? Bit like me having 5" stilettos but they have to stay in the box cause there's no way I could walk in them.
Like lots of women Stewart, I have an emotional relationship with shoes. I can usually remember the first time I wore a pair (sad isn't it?)
Some I binned were rather old, even 20 years old, but still in super condition. In these days shoes were made to last a lifetime.
But I have to admit now I just look ridiculous attempting to walk any distance in very high heels. With being brave enough to throw them out I'll avoid the temptation. :)
I admire your courage in parting with them. Sometimes it's the best way. I still buy Clark's shoes (not Arthur C's) and they seem to last a good while.
I have a shelf in my wardrobe Stewart which accommodates around 24 pairs of shoes in their boxes. That's my shoe shelf. Other people may have what Germans call 'shoe shranks' - small, sometimes beautifully made, cupboards which, when opened, display shoes in neat rows.
I had a lovely one once but it was badly damaged in transit.

Awful woman and a reason why the Tories have not changed.
Nadine Dorries, the Trougher who expected the Taxpayer to refund her some money she claimed her landlord owed her.
Allan, the SNP are right to bleat about these debates but yes, they do need to start attacking the others with some gusto.
Every party has their Nadine Howard. You'll upset Mr Dale you know.
That's the one Joe. She also refused to give the address of the property taxpayers are paying for if I remember. Security she said.
"We're smarter than you think."
Glasgow council.
Gordon Brown.
53 year life expectancy.
Murder capital of europe.
High ranking paedo ring.
real smart.
wv= amusn, not invent.
Rightwinggit - the UK got Brown (and Dorries) we got Salmond (and Sturgeon). We like fush - aye!

Have you seen Doctor Strangelove Subrosa?
Nadine sounds exactly like a character out of it. Or any of the other Cold War farces.
The women seems borderline delusional, and that is not an accusation I will level at politicians without good reason.
Yes Hythlodeaus I have seen Dr Strangelove and more than once.
I agree with your assessment but of course the film concentrated on the fallibility of the women and didn't analysise that of the men.

First time I have seen and heard Nadine in action !
And we pay for this?
It makes one wonder about some we havn't heard!
But in all seriousness, I was having difficulty understanding her words, she was speaking so fast.

It wasn't her speed which confused me Apogee, it was the content.

We need an independent nuclear capability then and you need sensible shoes. ;-)
Aye, maybe that's the answer Stewart. Oh, the stupid shoes saw their way to the dustbin yesterday - around 10 pairs of them. :)
Hark at you, Imelda Marcos! ;-)
How do ladies get through so many shoes? It's one of those unsolved mysteries. Arthur C. Clarke should've investigated...

I think Ms Dorries is a very liberated woman.
Should anybody find the frontal lobes of her brain I sincerely hope they make every effort to return them to her.
Goodness Stewart, I applaud your taste. I bought a pair of Clarks on Friday. Can't have too many empty spaces on the shoe shelf. :)
They certainly won't be of much help to anyone of any intelligence RA.
What's a shoe shelf, SR?
Actually, I've just recalled one of my childhood nightmares: being shown a shoe by my mum and being asked to search for the other one.
