The Future Under Trade Union Dominance?

As the trade union misogynists scream of their longed for war against what may be a democratically elected Conservative Government, ergo, the Nation and democracy, we can only imagine how their attitude to non-members would play out. When you consider the brutishness of ill educated, chip on the shoulder socialists and their union pay masters then you can see how easily their retribution can become a replica of the scene above. Make no mistake, this is how dreadful such people are. Whelan, Peter Pederast even that son of the snotty manse himself, regard the ends justify the means as a viable way to hold power. 59 Labour PPCs from Unite, more from the GmBH. Dromey handed a seat on a platter by his bloody awful wife. One thing is for certain, none of them care one jot about you and I or even their compliant and equally stupid members. God help us all under a trade union dictatorship. The cat is well and truly out of the bag. 1970s will seem utopia in comparison.

"As the trade union misogynists scream of their longed for war against what may be a democratically elected Conservative Government, ergo, the Nation and democracy" I recall that the same thing happened in 1974 with Ted Heath. Like them or not they were the elected Govt. Out came the miners and presto we had three day weeks. In steps "I'll get them back at any cost Wilson" and gets re-elected on the back of a uncosted promise. Setting the stage for the big headed buggers to take the workers for a ride until miserable Maggie got in.

Ah... I see my white horse charging before me...

"Trade Union Mysogynists", where? As opposed to the Blue Tories who continue to oppose equality legislation at the behest of their masters in the city. Please!

"Democratically elected Conservative Government" - have you seen the polls? 5 point lead the last I saw. People are seeing through Comedy Dave the same way they have seen through the Red Tories. A Scorched Earth policy towards our public services will set this country back decades.

"Make no mistake, this is how dreadful such people are. Whelan, Peter Pederast even that son of the snotty manse himself, regard the ends justify the means as a viable way to hold power" - as opposed to Boy George's message that no job in the public service is safe, or the recent Tax-payers Alliance video which claim's that there are "Non-Jobs" ripe for axing, and is demeaning to those people.

Where are the Conservatives ideas? After all, if all they have is this shreiking shrill name-calling, then quite frankly they deserve to lose.

Worst of all, you sound like you don't want people to have even basic working rights.

Hi Niko. I actually asked OldRightie to cross post this and I don't feel he's dumbing down anything.

We have to be prepared to listen to other views.

Subrosa, thank you as ever for your kind words. As for Niko and his mate, I refer to my credentials as someone born into ABJECT poverty and still knew socialism to be an ignorant supression of social mobility and personal responsibility. Not anyone else. Particularly not a government gestapo funded by a union mafia.

A wrong dispute in 1976 does not mean all trade union disputes are wrong. We are no longer in the 1970's.

I find it quite disturbing the level of hostility towards trade unions and trade union members shown by yourself. One expects it from people like Keith Rupert Murdoch or Eric Pickles. They're morons who have no sympathy with ordinary working people and never have.

When ordinary people, however, have no solidarity with people with whom they have a shared social strata then the ba's burst. When did this selfishness come in? This 'I'm in competition with every other human being on the planet'? Thatcher?

People need to realise that adopting an attitude of 'I'm alright, Jack' will only work for them in the short-term.

When did I show hostility towards trade union members William? The majority have no option other than to join a union.

Certainly I find some union bosses obnoxious and they don't look after their grass roots members in the least. They're only interested in their power struggle with those on an equal footing to themselves.

It's not selfishness, the selfishness comes from the union bosses who earn a fortune and live like lords.

True we are no longer in the 70s - I'm fully aware of that, but the unions haven't changed. There is going to be far more upset within the public services when the cuts arrive after the election. Do you honestly think the union bosses will be interested in saving the jobs of the low paid? I don't. They never have been since the 70s.

When say the 2030s arrive and I'll be dead, many will say remember 2010. What will you say then?

Calm down folk's it's pretty obvious we need a 'left' in order to curtail the excesses of the 'right'.

The problem here is both are acting like tyrants and totally disregarding rights, morality, social responsibility or democracy. In the past twenty years commerce has been allowed to remove itself from most aspects of social responsibility to either its employees or consumers.

Meanwhile Unions who cowed before the might of Thatcher, have, by their crawling incompetence been happy to adopt a peripheral role while commerce got on with its root and branch trimming of responsibility while advancing in exponential leaps it's executive remuneration, dividends and profits.

Yet these same Unions adopt an equally tyrannical and undemocratic role when it comes the funds they will invest in order to support the political hegemony tradition say's they must.

We're told £11m has been allocated by Unite to support Labour. Were the members asked whether they supported such a large amount being 'invested' or would it be more accurate to say donated to Labour?

I would think not; which means its just another tyrannical carve up by the nudge and wink carpet baggers.

"When did I show hostility towards trade union members William?"

'Compliant and equally stupid members" i.e. 'ill educated, chip on the shoulder, dreadful people.'

Why such aggressiveness towards organisations that are basically just ordinary people with a shared lack of financial or political clout joining together to try and exercise some control over their working conditions?

I mean, are you worried they're going too uppity or something?

Of all the organisations and people to get your blood boiling - the Murdoch empire, Kelvin McKenzie, Alan Duncan, the Daily Mail - and of all the things that are wrong with our country then trade unions must be way down the list.

They're basically the last line between employers doing almost anything they like and employees getting trampled underfoot. They might not be always strategically smart but the CBI aren't going to help you, are they?

Erm William, the actual post is not mine, it was posted by one of my co-contributers. Don't you notice the difference is style?

It also says at the end 'Posted by Oldrightie'.

I'll ask him to respond to you. I just joined in the debate because I think he has some points with which I agree.

Nothing I can disagree with there RA.

Sub: Damn, I fell into your elephant trap.

Oldrightie: I hope you don't think Im one of those socialists who had a silver spoon in their mouth when they were born. Sorry I wasn't born into abject poverty, but my experience of Thatcherism is a scarring as your experience of "socialism" - there are a great deal of people in Scotland who are in a worse place because of Thatcherism and their destruction of society.

Crinkly & Amp (???): Spot on. What I would say though is that it's a pity we don't have a "left" in this country anymore. Just a "Right" and a slightly to the "right" that pretends to be left.

Crinkly & Ragged Arsed Philosophers said...

Wrong Allan we have got a Left. It works under the sobriquet of What's Left then takes it and applies the Rights principles to it.
