Dream or Reality?

Matt Stockdale, a man who made millions discovering an oven cleaner that works (I can vouch for that), has launched new website.

At Cost Energy is offering electricity and gas at cost price and claims he can save households a minimum of £320 a year.

The launch promised 'no hidden extras, no flashy offices, no directors bonuses, just the same gas and electricity you use currently'.

He said more than 10,000 people had already switched - " We are creating the UK's first people's energy company."

At Cost Energy has recently submitted its draft application to EFGEM to become a licensed gas and electricity supplier so no license has yet been issued. This is being reviewed and will become a public record, giving existing energy companies an opportunity to object to their license being granted.

A dream or reality? Politicians won't like this one bit will they? We must not dismiss the efforts of Matt Stockdale though because it is a feasible ideal, but I'm never comfortable dealing with any online business unless I have a contact phone number and address which I can verify. I refuse to deal with businesses which do not award me that courtesy. (Having said that it look some searching a few years ago to find much information about Scottish Power).

I wish Matt Stockdale every success in dealing with the bureaucracy involved with energy in this country. He'll need it.

Seems reasonable if the nominal profits are given to the customers instead of shareholders. To make it work, all they have to do is make enough to cover expenses, not much of a problem!

It would work Apogee, my concern is that the government won't allow a license. Red tape will intervene.

There's an organisation based in London which meets in the Palace of Westminster. It has an address and a phone number, but if you write to it or ring it up there's nobody listening so there isn't much point.

Matt needs giving a go, I think.

Had to read your first sentence twice Marvo but got it eventually! Trying to eat toast and drink coffee at the same time didn't help.

It's certainly something to keep an eye on this.

Rosie, I bought his oven cleaner for Mrs Lochnagar and she tells me it's fabulous. I must admit the last time I inspected her cleaning it seemed to work OK. I've told her though that if my dinner's late again by 5 minutes, she'll just have to go back to elbow grease.

Dark Lochnagar - fancy making a similar point with your claymore at Westminster?

It is good I must admit DL. I'm assuming Mrs DL has as much respect for you as you have for her since you started inspecting the cleanliness of your home.

She's very tolerant I admit. I wouldn't let you in from the shed other than to carry out your ablutions. You're a lucky man, but I expect you have the shed quite cosy.

His energy would be far better spent that way RA, I agree.
