Hungover?

Feeling a bit fragile this morning? Seems like the answer is a full grilled breakfast. I've had a look round the internet to see if there is any 'cure' but of course there's not. Sometimes life is cruel.

This is a good site because someone kindly drank to excess for 7 days/nights and tested lots of 'cures'. The things people do in the name of science!

This is a site for the "I'll never drink again" folk. Not one for me because I stopped kidding myself years ago.

Others think the best cure is to dress up warm and hit the shops for the Boxing Day sales. It seems the shock to your wallet takes your mind off the headache.

Whatever you do the experts say don't take aspirin. It's not good for your liver it seems. We wouldn't want to damage our livers would we?

Lots of water, painkillers and vitamin B tablets normally work a treat.

and Vit C

maybe also the water should be sparkling and if your not diabetic, should be sugared.

Wait a inute that is Irn Bru!

I take Berocca, works for me. Found it 12 years ago in Oz when was living in big wine circles.

Bamboo can also help.

Tastes like keich but if you get a real chewy bit the toothache distracts.

Eggs are supposed to be good for breakfast too QM, they absorb some of the poisons. Why do we do it? lol

I take Berocca every day Bug and I notice others have started too when I opened the tube this morning to find it empty. :(

Irn Bru seems to be the answer for the young.

Hope you're feeling yourself again after your splurge on Christmas Eve.

I don't know why we do it SR lol, but it wont stop me next time and hopefully I'll never ever learn ;-)

Paracetamol is definitely one to avoid if you've already dented your liver.

I find the isotonic drinks work faster than plain water. The dirt cheap supermarket own-brand ones are just as good as the named brands. I keep a few in the fridge.

The best way is to drink as much water as you can before you go to bed - but that often means a trip or two to the bathroom in the middle of the night!

Why do we do it? Well, I do it because I like it ;)

Besides, liver grows back.

LI, I can't use ibropen cause it doesn't agree with me, but I limit my use of paracetemol as much as I can.

I do it because I like it too. I smoke because I enjoy a few cigarettes - not the number I actually smoke though but that's going to change. There's another ecig in this house since yesterday so it'll be interesting to see the results.

Very helpful post...

Merry Christmas, er, Boxing Day!

Sleep's the answer LSP, rest and plenty of fluids. If you can't do that then don't overdo it the night before. :)

Avoid the worst of hangovers by drinking clear spirits though at Christmas I always go for a nice whisky anyway. The only true 'cure' is time and, following recovery, take a trip to a Premier Inn for their 'eat as much as you like' fry up breakfast ( inc Pomegranate Juice & real fresh fruit salad), sorted.

I think my nearest Premier Inn would be Aberdeen or Edinburgh banned. Doubt if I could cope with the 75 minute drive :(

Mind you, it's true that a good breakfast helps. I don't really know though because I never have a hangover. :)

Tomato juice and Worcestershire sauce with a thimbleful of vodka added to the last of three glasses.

wv ovaing, overhang?

That's an effective cure right enough RWG. I remember it was all the rage back in the 60s and 70s. Think it was the only time I ever had vodka was in a bloody mary.
