Last night was the Xmas dinner here.

Hors d'oeuvres
Various pates on toast with Champagne

Starter
Oysters

Soup
It was foie gras soup. I did't know it existed but it does and was based on chestnut and fois gras pure. Was it rich!

Main Course with a reasonable Claret
Guinea Fowl stuffed with truffles

Second Last
Bloc Foie gras

Desert
Log gateau

Cheeses
Various

I could hear my blood vessels clog up!

Trying to sleep at 2 am with that in me was impossible and it just sat in my stomach like a ball and refused to move on until about 5 am. Only then did it stop trying to climb out.

Too rich.

I could have murdered a fish supper but that would have been so infra dig.

Next year I will try Bali, or a rented hoose in Scotland near Perth, I think.

Off to bed early with stomach a little, deliberately, empty and nae bevvy.

FC, I think I would have had to shout 'quits' after the soup. Just can't handlel rich food these days but it's difficult in company I know that.

They can advertise all the indigestion stuff they like, none of it works. As you say sometimes food just doesn't want to move on.

Had three courses today. One at midday, one at 5pm and the last at 7pm. Worked out ok.

Yoohoo DL, I stuck with the red then it was that thimbleful of Amaretto which exhausted me. I'm blaming it on Caron (Musings). She suggested hot chocolate and amaretto as a night drink.

But it was gorgeous right enough.

Jings CH quite a rich menu. No pudding in this house. Nobody eats it anyway and there are plenty home made pies and cake.

Hi SR, hope you had a great day and enjoyed your alcohol fuelled frenzy as did I.
I was going to go on a bracing walk as advised by HMG but I can't find the approved list of destinations.

SR,

Check out "The Snowman Irn Bru" advert on YouTube - brilliant!

Lol banned, isn't it strange, neither could I, so thought it best to stay indoors. Didn't want to be arrested for walking in the wrong street. :)

It is indeed CD. Maybe I should use it for a post on New Year's Day. Hope you had a pleasant day. I'm always glad when it's all over.
