You too CD. It's been a lovely day thanks. Plenty fun with the latest technology although I think others are getting scunnert at my inability to comprehend first time round.
Strange but true: every Christmas for about the past 35-40 years, we have opened our presents to an LP of carols played in the Tijuana brass style. It is an MFP production, so probably not Herb Alpert himself, but groovy nonetheless.
I think we missed one year because no one could find the record. Someone recorded it onto cassette tape, so that's what we listened to today.
I too prefer vinyl Stewart. Doubt there's a machine for that. Today's technicians won't even know what vinyl was!!
I'll let you know how effective the cassette to CD thingie is. It looks like a walkman with some cables. :) You can tell I'm a whizz with media products.
Maybe you could reopen the great debate about which is best. I don't have many cassettes. I nearly always bought LPs, and then CDs when I got my first CD player in 1997. Would be interested to hear how your gizmo performs.
There's an idea Stewart, I'll do a post once the new owner has found the time to use the cassette=cd machine. It was requested as a gift because tapes do get 'old'.
I remember a few years ago I was given the technology to put old tape videos on DVDs but what a pain that process was. Hope this one's easier.
I wish I'd had my videos transferred to DVD, especially the personal ones. I lived in a flat for five years, which had quite a bit of dampness. I then moved to a house down here in Galloway, which also had dampness, though not quite as bad. Nevertheless, most of the videos (two boxes worth) are ruined. The actual tape has a greeny-blue powdery fungal stuff on it and they won't play.
I was annoyed at first, but on the bright side, it's less rubbish to watch!
Stewart that's such a shame. Memories aren't rubbish as you know and perhaps I'll never watch some of the videos I put on CD again, but it's the fact that I know I can if I want to.

Have a great day, but I prefer Hogmanay anytime!

Anyway: Happy Christmas.
Stewart, Santa brought me a bit of technology which changes my old cassette tapes to CD. Haven't had time to try it out yet though.
Get him to send me one next year! Actually, I prefer vinyl more than anything. Is there a machine to change my CDs to LPs? :-)

You have inspired my latest blog post:
Christmas traditions!

I'm off to read your new post now. :)
