Cheerio (I Hate Goodbyes)

I'm sad this morning even though I knew it was coming. Another blogger, who I consider a friend, has decided to put his keyboard in storage. Advanced Media Watch has decided, for the reasons he states, he has had enough.

He supports the SNP and independence for Scotland with a passion and I'm sure he will continue to do so. Once, only once, he made an error but was quickly forgiven for the mature way in which he handled it.

This young man has shown that blogs are not only personal writings but can be excellent for discussion and also fun. He was the first blogger ever to acknowledge a comment I made and from there on in I was a fan along with hundreds of others.

I shall miss his relaxed, chatty style and I wish him all the luck in the world in his future endeavours.

May the sun always shine for you Spook x.

yeh, i too saw this coming but a real shame. This was a top blog.

Is it just coincidence, but a lot of nat blogs seem to be going under these days? All for their own and very different reasons, but all chronologically post Glasgow North East. Maybe something in this?

Sad to see one of the most genuine bloggers call it a day. If it's any consolation, glad to see that it's 'real life' and not other reasons for calling it a day.

I particularly enjoyed the banter between him and Niko. It was some light relief in-between the depressing reality of what's going on in this country.

Spooky boy, best of luck. Make sure you train up your other half well for when she moves in! ;-)

I could well be AWC but, as always, Spook is diplomatic.

Labour and the unionists haven't 'won' anything though. I'm sure he'll continue to fly the flag to everyone in his own way.

Indeed Rab, he blogged because he enjoyed it.

Jeff was talking about another blogger being in trouble. I hope it's not him,

Conan, it is possible given that he now works for one of the banks which is probably owned by the tax payer, that someone has blown in his ear and told him to quit. it confirms what we all know that the internet holds a lot of power and influence now. I found that blogging was far to demanding and used vast chunks of my time that could be better spent on my bikes or my Landrover. If you allow it to it will engulf you, just like a landrover, or a good woman.

Spooky well done mate you were a shining light. I will not be around when you retire but it is my firm conviction that you will be living in an independent Scotland. Enjoy. God bless you and yours.

Nothing to do with GE - just pressure of work at the start of a career and real life. Guid on ye Spook.

I suspect and hope he will be back sooner than retirement days. We need all the bloggers we can get!

SR, Spook,

Thanks for the pleasure, I'm counting the 42 until you're back....I wonder if I'll remember this day or even be alive, or perhaps living in an Independent Scotland.

I can understand your reasons and in the big wide world of earning a living, time is precious and who you spend it with......if I had the time and 'er in doors was busier.......just a thought.

Anyway, fair winds and following seas as we say in The Andrew!

A wise career move by young AMW.

Hope he remembered to restrict access to his Facebook (and tweets too).

All the best for a long and happy future, Spooky!

Kind regards,

FT
