Germany's Politicians and the Swine Flu Vaccine

"I'll be fine, I'll be adjuvant free"

At times I am so grateful for the internet, because if I relied upon our MSM I would be more susceptible to government brainwashing.

The Spiegel Online (one of Germany's top newspapers) is reporting that German Chancellor Angela Merkel and government ministers will receive a special, additive-free H1N1 vaccine.

'The vaccine does not contain disputed additives - contrary to the vaccine for the remainder of the population,' reports the newspaper.

'Critics argue that adjuvants in the vaccine could lead to increased inoculation reactions such as headache or fever.' The German government elite and the armed forces will receive Celvapan, an adjuvant-free vaccine, manufactured by Baxter. The German public will receive a vaccine produced by GlaxoSmithKline with adjuvants.

Having lived in Germany for some years I'm aware Germans take more individual responsibility for their own health than many do in the UK and I should think much of the content of this article, particularly the quotes from scientists, will create a public outcry.

Our political elite wouldn't consider using an additive-free vaccine and then insist their paymasters use another type would they? Surely not.

Me, I a just taking the adjuvants and no pig flu vaccine as my religion forbids it.

Pigs and Goats do not mix well.

Hi SR
Of course we are not to question our "betters".
But we were not supposed to know that there ARE two types of vaccine, are we.
Just thinking back, over the last 30 odd years there has been many instances of unexplained illnesses believed to be due to vaccines, which have worried the public, Gulf War Syndrome for one, and what is the point of"additives"
which do nothing to help the effectiveness of the vaccine?
Seems to be more questions than answers!

Pork doesn't agree with me too well these days Billy, so I'll manage without too.

Take my chances.

Apogee, I think perhaps price may have something to do with it don't you think so too?

This poor lady has a touch of the Ann Widdecombe's about her - could this be as a result of the swine-flu injection? I think we should be told before we're all dooooomed.

In England the adjuvant added vaccine is the one being rolled out to pregnant women despite it never being tested before. The adjuvant is a live element of the virus (not a doctor so...) so you only need one vaccination for 'complete protection' as opposed to the non-adjuvant variety which takes two shots for immunity. 'So what if there are more side-effects', says the govt as it opts for the other version!

Personally, I am relying on Laphroig 48% Double Distilled. It may not stop the flu, but at least I don't have to worry about the side effects.

GoodnightVienna said...

Sorry, that should be : 'never being tested *on pregnant women* before'

Hi SR
You would not be suggesting that our lords and masters would risk OUR health with dodgy adjuvants to save money while using adjuvant free vaccines for themselves.
I would have to agree that they probably would. Well, the Germans are,so this lot will do the same.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immunologic_adjuvant
Follow the link, interesting reading, esp aluminium salts and medical complications, also the 2nd
paragraph, last sentence, how they work is still not entirely understood!
And this is the junk they want us to submit to ,without proper testing!! Geez.

Have I misjudged you SR? Did I really just see you hat-tipping Alex Jones?

Do you think so brownlie? I've heard she's quite a charming person and her husband even more so.

subrosa said...

GV, I heard the end of woman's hour the other day and they were speaking to a pregnant woman about it. She was saying exactly that and didn't know where to turn to for further advice.

subrosa said...

Apogee, I should have put a link to Wiki under adjuvants. I did read it when I was doing the post.

I don't think there's been any human testing rather than 'proper' testing.

Alec, the article was sent to me in a link to PP. I checked it out in The Spiegel and found it authentic. Therefore I acknowledged my source as I usually do.

So many people post information yet do not provide their source. I find that invalidated the writing somewhat.

Ladies and Gentlemen – Please
A little less hysteria and a little more scientific fact.

Firstly let it be clear, there is no “special” vaccine. German politicians will merely be using Celvapan , one of the two vaccines available.

In Europe there will be two vaccines available for mass immunisation. –
Pandemrix manufactured by GSK, and
Celvapan manufactured by Baxter

Pandermix
This is produced safely and cheaply by growing the H1N1 virus on hens eggs. Most important of all it can be produced quickly and in quantity. (Remember we are having to produce sufficient vaccine to inoculate against a global pandemic.)
Its’ potency as a vaccine is enhanced by the use of a single adjuvant (see below)
Stocks are now available in the UK ready to begin immunisation.

Celvapan
This is produced by a form of cell culture. This is a much more sophisticated, complex and time consuming process. Whilst this vaccine can and will be produced in quantity it would struggle to produce sufficient doses on a foreshortened timescale, as required by the likes of the WHO and NHS.
Celvapan will be the vaccine of choice for those with egg allergy.
Stocks should be available by the end of October.

Choice of vaccine
One is cheap and cheerful relatively natural and produced from eggs but does contain an adjuvant; the other is a more complex entity produced by sophisticated biochemistry, but has no adjuvant.
It really is six of one and half a dozen of the other, so availability of sufficient stocks has to be a major consideration

Adjuvant
An adjuvant is used to enhance the effect of a vaccine.
The adjuvant in Pandermix is AS03, the active ingredient of which is squalene.
Squalene is nothing more sinister than a constituent of fish liver oil.
Squalene has been used in over 22,000,000 doses of influenza vaccine since 1997 and not a single severe adverse reaction has been reported.
For some interesting reading see the WHO - Squalene Adjuvants
http://www.who.int/vaccine_safety/topics/adjuvants/squalene/questions_and_answers/en/

Vaccination
If you, or a family member, are in one of the ‘at risk’ groups do give having the vaccine serious consideration. If you have doubts, discuss them with a professional, your doctor or your pharmacist – but, please, do not be guided by hysterical comment.

I don't think I'm promoting hysteria John, just the facts.

The facts in this post promote hysteria.

Also the fact that is it well documented that the vaccines have not been tested to our usual standards.

I know you will have taken trusted professional advice and I have also listened to some recently.

The decision is mine alone and I have no intention of attempting to influence anyone. Not one of us is in the same situation.

This is from the information that I have read:
Squalene is an adjuvant that has been linked to the Gulf War Syndrome. There is evidence that the American soldiers were injected with an experimental anthrax vaccine containing squalene shortly before being sent to the Persian Gulf. As you may know, many of the soldiers suffered from terrible, lifelong illnesses and disabilities after the war. Some soldiers who had Gulf War Syndrome had received vaccinations but had never actually been sent to the Persian Gulf--so their illness was not from the war. When squalene is injected into lab rats, they become crippled.
Squalene is an oil that naturally occurs in the body and is in substances that we eat, but how it enters the body is what makes the difference. If injected into the body, the immune system then sees it as an invader and then begins to attack squalene wherever it is in the body, causing auto-immune disease. (from V.V., in California, USA)

subrosa said...

Thank you Vivian, that's exactly what I read too and couldn't find again.

Much appreciate your contribution. America has done more research than the UK on the use of squalene.

JRB said...

Re Gulf War Syndrome

The World Health Organisation issued a clear statement on the GWS/Anthrax/Squalene topic –

"A few people have tried to link the health problems of Gulf War veterans to the possible presence of squalene in the vaccines these soldiers received.
One published report suggested that some veterans who received anthrax vaccines developed anti-squalene antibodies and these antibodies caused disabilities.
It is now known that squalene was not[*] added to the vaccines administered to these veterans."

*my emphasis

It should be pointed out that Squalene is a naturally occurring substance which we ourselves produce in our liver, and which circulates in our bloodstream.
The additional amount added to the vaccine as an adjuvant simply acts as a supplement to the bodies own supply.

Not just the Spiegel

"How can an ordinary citizen understand that a vaccine with fewer side effects has been ordered for ministers than the one intended for the masses," asked the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung."

JRB, you still don't explain why the special people get the good stuff and the plebs get the cheapie ?

subrosa said...

Thanks banned. I read that in the Frankfurter after I'd written my post.

Haven't read my European papers in the past couple of weeks really, must get back into the habit because certain nuggets can be found which never appear in the UK press.

You have indeed spotted the political elephant in the room. There should be no reason for the politicos not to have the cheap and cheerful version. To ask why they have opted for one particular variant is a valid one which I cannot answer.
Perhaps it’s a bit like why I will only be having a reasonable ‘blend’ tonight whilst Demetrious (above) has an excellent Laphroig.

And Subrosa
You eluded to perhaps one of the weakest links in the vaccine debate –
“ the vaccines have not been tested to our usual standards” – but no one picked up on it.

Think I should shut up now having had my fair share of the comment.

subrosa said...

John, please don't shut up. It's important we all know each other's reasons for their decisions. It's the way informed choice is made.

Dreich day here. Lights on to create artificial sunshine.

I have a default assumption that anything which appears on Alex Jones' site is mad, mad, mad. This is a man who used his site to promote the belief that HIV was invented by the CIA as population control.

He's a black helicopters man.

Considering that the author of the article, Kurt Nimmo, is a contributer to various Troofer sites as well as rense.com, my suspicions are heightened.

JRB has said it all. The reason the politicos are receiving Celvapan is that it is potentially more effective, but more expensive. Similar rationale allowed politicos access to fall-out bunkers whilst we plebs would have been hiding under upturned doors.

All pharaceuticals are required to be assessed and meet a minimum standard, and if there is evidence that Pandermix has been improperly assessed, I'll listen to it. It's just I won't listen to anything which Alex Jones thinks credible.

We've been through this with the false information put out by the 'threats' from MMR and the cervical jag.

subrosa said...

Alec, I was honest in stating my source. The writer only translated the Spiegel article.

As for the owner of the site I know nothing about him. If I hadn't the ability to check the Spiegel article thoroughly (as I do speak German) then the post would not have been written by me.

Yes I could have said the source, for me, was the Spiegel, but that would be untrue.

Haven't you read what John wrote this morning? I shall cut and paste it for you.

And Subrosa
You eluded to perhaps one of the weakest links in the vaccine debate –
“ the vaccines have not been tested to our usual standards” – but no one picked up on it.

That's what I object to - mass vaccination without testing. The excuse is there's not enough time for testing. Not good enough.

People who are told they need this vaccine shouldn't feel like guinea pigs and they do.

Anonymous said...

One question left unanswered. Would our government ever have better stuff than we, the ordinary people have?

The Cabinet Secretary for Health isn't allowed to have vaccination at all, because she's not in a high risk group...

So, I think the answer is no.

I did note today that the English government's front bench are wearing poppies with big leaves attached.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why they have these special poppies. It certainly can't be that they care more, for sure as hell they don't.

subrosa said...

That's another thing which bugs me with politicians and broadcasters Tris. They wear poppies without one once of guilt.

Also they're far too early. I much prefer to wear mine the week before Remembrance Sunday.
