Christopher Monckton Addresses America

Lord Christopher Monckton, former science advisor to Margaret Thatcher, has been addressing the Minnesota Free Market Institute in relation to the issue of climate change.

Part of his presentation has been recorded and I've copied it directly from the writer's website. Is Lord Monckton correct? Has anyone read this treaty? Are we sticking our heads in the sand once more?

Here were Monckton’s closing remarks, as dictated from my audio recording:

At [the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference in] Copenhagen, this December, weeks away, a treaty will be signed. Your president will sign it. Most of the third world countries will sign it, because they think they’re going to get money out of it. Most of the left-wing regime from the European Union will rubber stamp it. Virtually nobody won’t sign it.

I read that treaty. And what it says is this, that a world government is going to be created. The word “government” actually appears as the first of three purposes of the new entity. The second purpose is the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to third world countries, in satisfication of what is called, coyly, “climate debt” - because we’ve been burning CO2 and they haven’t. We’ve been screwing up the climate and they haven’t. And the third purpose of this new entity, this government, is enforcement.

How many of you think that the word “election” or “democracy” or “vote” or “ballot” occurs anywhere in the 200 pages of that treaty? Quite right, it doesn’t appear once. So, at last, the communists who piled out of the Berlin Wall and into the environmental movement, who took over Greenpeace so that my friends who funded it left within a year, because [the communists] captured it - Now the apotheosis as at hand. They are about to impose a communist world government on the world. You have a president who has very strong sympathies with that point of view. He’s going to sign it. He’ll sign anything. He’s a Nobel Peace Prize [winner]; of course he’ll sign it.

[laughter]

And the trouble is this; if that treaty is signed, if your Constitution says that it takes precedence over your Constitution (sic), and you can’t resign from that treaty unless you get agreement from all the other state parties [ And because you’ll be the biggest paying country, they’re not going to let you out of it.

So, thank you, America. You were the beacon of freedom to the world. It is a privilege merely to stand on this soil of freedom while it is still free. But, in the next few weeks, unless you stop it, your president will sign your freedom, your democracy, and your humanity away forever. And neither you nor any subsequent government you may elect will have any power whatsoever to take it back. That is how serious it is. I’ve read the treaty. I’ve seen this stuff about [world] government and climate debt and enforcement. They are going to do this to you whether you like it or not.

But I think it is here, here in your great nation, which I so love and I so admire - it is here that perhaps, at this eleventh hour, at the fifty-ninth minute and fifty-ninth second, you will rise up and you will stop your president from signing that dreadful treaty, that purposeless treaty. For there is no problem with climate and, even if there were, an economic treaty does nothing to [help] it.

So I end by saying to you the words that Winston Churchill addressed to your president in the darkest hour before the dawn of freedom in the Second World War. He quoted from your great poet Longfellow:

Sail on, O Ship of State!

Sail on, O Union, strong and great!

Humanity with all its fears,

With all the hopes of future years,

Is hanging breathless on thy fate!

I am a atheistic Global Warmer. It is all am engineered fraud, by whom and for what is a separate manner.

The climate of the World is changing, it always has and arguably it is getting colder overall.

Has this, is this the fault of CO2 emissions, probably not.

So what is it all about?

Hi Subrosa.
This was given an airing some months ago but never really picked up.
Same style of scam as the EU treaty but much worse, in my humble opinion,I only read a small fraction and I dont think it was ever intended to be understandable. We will be sold down the river by our elected leaders, as usual.(Some will gain but it wont be us!)

Why can't there be an intelligence test for prospective politicians, maybe an honesty one as well!!

Hope your eyes are now well on the mend, dont work them too hard.
Cheers.

SR, I saw this report on Watts-up-with-that and was going to post on it, but you beat me to it.

Apogee should perhaps remember we all thought the EU idea 'was ever intended to be understandable' and look at the mess we are in now!

Oh yes and do hope the 'eyes have it' - as in recovered!

Billy it's about a treaty which, as Apogee says, is going to sell us further down the river.

I hope the MSM pick it up and run with it Apogee.

Thanks for the good wishes. Yes things are improving and I've now got my Mac back! Oh the pleasure of reading in an easily adjustable font size and on a large clear screen.

If I do buy a PC laptop I've decided the screen has to be at least 17". Most of them seem to be about the same price as a Mac though.

For the next couple of days I'll take it easy then I shall return to reading my favourite blogs. Have just compiled a list of some posts for the morning but I'm sure I've missed many more good ones this week.

WfW, you post on it. The more we spread this around the better it is for all of us.

I'm getting used to having one dilated pupil now WfW, it'll be strange when they stop the medication. Next hospital visit is Tuesday so hopefully that'll be the last.

Lord Christopher Monckton and his good lady are very highly thought of in the Rannock area or so I have been lead to believe by some-one close to the area. I understand that they have been the driving force behind the NHS cover scandel(as in lack off) for the Rannoch area and are fighting to get the decison reversed.

Although a right winger he does actually write some good stuff that most people could associate with at some point or other

WfW,Hi there.
Yes, my memory can go back past when we joined the EEC, or whatever the initials were, and like a great proportion of the UK, thought it was a scam then. Like politicians, nothing changes!
SR,a 17 inch screen is the best for a desktop backup, but if you take it anywhere, it is heavy, Ive got the muscles to prove it. But steer clear of Vista, it was not their best, even Micro$oft now admit it. Hav'nt tried windows 7 yet, but the reports from the states are mixed. A definite case of try before you buy. And the best of luck !!
Cheers

Aye he's known in the Rannoch area, he's had a house there for some years.

I'm certainly not on his side about NHS provision there. It's an exceptionally small community and were very lucky to have a resident doctor for some years, but when the doctor retired it was decided to replace him with a travelling doctor.

I've lived in a village in Perthshire with a far larger population than Rannoch but still it had a 'travelling' doctor.

People surely look at medical facilities when they decide to live somewhere. Rannoch is out on a limb and it's been well known for many years the GP would not be replaced.

So Mr Monckton can shout all he wants. He and his community can do the same as others nearby and get as quickly as possible to the A9 and Perth Royal Infirmary. About an hour's journey I would say. It takes me 35 minutes from my home so not that much longer for him.

Thanks Apogee, yes 17" at least it has to be. Trouble is they're all singing and dancing things well over £1000 and I just want to use it as an addition to this desktop Mac really.

I won't be carting it many places, at least I have no intention of doing so but if someone was hospitalised for example, I'd be happy to lend it to them.

Thinking about that, maybe that's a stupid remark. Do hospitals provide wireless?

Hope it gets better for all communities...
