Media Reporting - American Style

I found this uncomfortable to watch.

That's appalling Rosa, if ever there was a time to be thankful for omniscient video.

Indeed Monty. I've just added I found it uncomfortable to watch which it was.

I do hope something is done and at least an apology is given to the woman but I doubt it.

Pity it won't become a viral Youtube video - that would shame them all.

SR,

I didn't find it uncomfortable to watch. Racsim is engrained in these people, it will take more than Obama to cut it out.

I do hope someone enabled the woman to take a case against the security team, they seem to have been caught red handed.

I hope so too CD. Good morning, rain here. :(

Rosa .

This video certainly depicts The Tea baggers and the Birthers as nothing more than closet racists.

Unfortunately racism in US society is still very prevalent in many parts of the South with a vast number of people unable or unwilling to ever accept a man of colour as POTUS.

That is just the way it is !

Morning BD. It may be the way it is but the US is the example held up to us as a country which has no racial problem.

As young Tris said, I do hope someone helps the woman sue the police. Their behaviour was disgusting.

The black woman was not holding up the poster -if you look she was approached by a photographer who appears to ask to see it. The black woman attempts to unroll it and is pounced upon by a white chap who grabs it and crushes it up and is then hustled away by security. It was the photographer who instigated the debacle and I bet she got good (contrived?) photos for her paper as the sign outside said "No posters or signs inside folks". We didn't see if the white chaps with the yellow signs were eventually put out outside or told to leave. The camera, sometimes, lies?
Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness - for those toe the line.

The point I took from it Clarinda is that the 3 people with the green signs weren't put outside or even asked to stop showing them, only the black woman.

I appreciate your point Subrosa - I was only suggesting that the video may not have shown the entire story about the white chaps - they ought to have been ejected as well as they are heard to request! Watch how the photographer who started this got her photos as the black woman was being roughly bundled away. What are "tea-baggers" by the way?

What are "tea-baggers" by the way?

A whining fool shouting loudly for liberty but not willing to pay the bill.

There's a coarser interpretation, but suggest the ladies don't go looking for it...

Ah I see that now Clarinda, I initially thought the photographer was a security officer of some kind and the camera was for these reasons. Isn't it odd how we can interpret a video so differently but I do think you're chain of thought is far more accurate than mine.

I thought they were very left-wingers but Monty has just defined it. Not a very good description 'tea-baggers' is it?

Clarinda said...

Dearie me Monty - the original meaning leaves a bad taste and the new definition is little better!!!!

I think this is the most political definition I could find:

2. n. A conservative activist who is so ignorant that they protest against tax cuts (that benefit them) by throwing tea into a river.

The others required too much imagination. :)
