The Last Of The Crooners

Andy Williams died on Monday at the age of 84.

His rendition of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face' brings back some particularly happy days for me.

Along with the likes of Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jnr., his music was labelled 'easy listening'.  As with other similar singers of his era the listener could hear every word. If that's the definition of easy listening I'm all for it.

He was a totally American product with his Christmas Shows involving his family and other top class acts and brought the pleasures of popular music to many millions.

RIP Andy Williams. 1927 - 2012

He did indeed. More hectic than humanly possible if all the rumours are to be believed Aangirfan. :)
