The Vicar Of Bray
A contribution from Edward Spalton.
I have composed a new extra verse for today:
And this had been the custom now
From that day unto this, Sir.
But now the times are sorely changed
And things have gone amiss, Sir.
For Queen Anne's bounty long is spent,
Of replenishment no more hope.
So a King in Brussels I'll have now
With grants from "Soul for Europe".
AND THIS IS THE LAW I WILL MAINTAIN UNTIL MY DYING DAY,SIR
THAT WHATSOEVER KING MAY REIGN,
I'LL BE THE VICAR OF BRAY,SIR.
Edward
