Flu Vaccine Recalled

The Scottish Government is recalling thousands of flu vaccines over fears that the drug is making some people ill.

About 300,000 doses of Preflucel are being withdrawn immediately from surgeries and pharmacies across the UK and Europe.

Health chiefs have warned that one of the most recent batches, issued at the beginning of September, is causing more side-effects - muscle pain, headaches and fatigue - than previous vaccines.  They have been recalled while its manufacturer and the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency investigates what has gone wrong.

Doctors and nurses in Scotland - where 2,500 vaccines have been recalled - have been told not to use any Preflucel until further notice.

I choose not to have the flu vaccine but there are many who do.  There must have been quite a volume of complaints for this particular vaccine to be recalled.  Statins also cause serious side-effects in some people yet doctors continue to prescribe them as 'safe' medication.  Perhaps it's time more people complained about the effect of these.

I do not see the Elites using this particular brand, and I will not be either. Wonder what "boosters" are in this lot?

Please don't use vaccines unless they've been used for a number of years. I know you will think it's "conspiracy theory" stuff, but most of them are not properly tested.

Last years flu vaccine was (by the EU websites admission)was being tested whilst being administered. It caused narcolepsy in thousands of people.

Possibly a lot more harm than is contained in commercial tobacco Apogee.

That's why I have decided not to have it Sue. It's altered year by year to suit what is thought to be the strain, but it can't have been tested.

Good advice. Thanks.

"over fears that the drug is making some people ill"

Medical people were telling me that about the bird flu vaccine when it came out which is why many of them resisted taking it despite being accused if "endangering patients" by whichever branch of the NHS is responsible for promoting its uptake.

Promotion right enough banned. It's a sake of getting rid of the stuff rather than its safety being the prime concern.

That's interesting. My daughter and I got out flu shots in Springburn on Tuesday. I had a sore neck most of yesterday and my daughter has a red patch on her arm; otherwise we're as surly as ever. I'll keep a close eye on developments though...

Aye, do keep an eye on things Mek. I should think by Tuesday the suspicious make would have already been taken off the list though.
