Cath's Empire Is Diminishing

Perseverance pays. I actually found a reasonably flattering photo of Baroness Ashton of Upholland, commonly know as inept Cath.

Let's not forget Catherine Ashton was the person responsible for steering the Lisbon Treaty through the House of Lords and her prize was the EU's High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.  Under the Lisbon Treaty her post is combined with the post of Vice-President of the European Commission.

With reference to my request for someone to be brave enough to knock her off her pedestal it seems there have been plenty volunteers.

Staff are leaving her new department - the European External Action Service - in droves.  In the past nine months almost 60 staff have left the EEAS amid reports of bad working conditions.   27 people have gone off to work for the EU Council, the member states' secretariat, 16 went to the EU and 6 left for the European Parliament while 7 have gone into the private sector.  Another 3 quit the cabinet of the EEAS.

It's not looking good for the Baroness, especially when a loyal spokesman has to more or less beg staff who are thinking of leaving, to wait until they move into their new splendid headquarters in March.  Sometimes a state of the art building just isn't a good enough working environment.

Sorry Rosa but there isn't ANY photo in the world that could be flattering to that useless b##ch ... even Photoshop has it's limitations!

I think we may have different standards with regard to 'flattering'.

Our universities are turning out thousands of graduates with degrees in 'EU studies' and there's a bottomless pit of money to keep this going for eternity. They will never be short of replacements to keep the EU gravy train scam going.

Quite possibly Woodsy. I'm trying to be gentle here because not all of us are oil paintings, although if we had her money I'm sure we could become reasonable watercolours.

I'm not suggesting surgery. Good makeup can work wonders as I know when I gild the lily.

Mind you, she probably thinks why bother when she can collect her excessive salary with no effort.

Strange you should mention that RM because someone mentioned such a course to me just the other week.

It's becoming popular as part of the 'politics and history' courses.

I don't know why history is included for our career politicians. They never learn from it.

Rosie,
I don't know why she doesn't sit inside the fullsize Dalek her husband bought her for a birthday present - it's displayed in her drawing room - and spare us her fizzog. Normally I would be gallant and praise her personality but she's a political droid so nil personality.

"...crisis management officials abandoning ship" It's only been going for a year or so, how many crisis management managers do they need?

It's sad we can't find anything positive to say about the woman Brian, but there's nothing I can find. Someone in her position of power should have a little personality at least. Surely.

It shows the shambles of the setup banned doesn't it.
