A Must Read - Kenneth Roy
On Wednesday Kenneth Roy led on The Megrahi Scandal in the Scottish Review. He questioned Alex Salmond's decision to reappoint the Lord Advocate, Elish Angiolini, when the SNP took office in 2007.
He also suggests that it would take the Scottish government only 4 weeks to publish the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission's report.
Wednesday's article is here. A must read.

SR. That link should be...

I think the front page moves regularly and gets archived. Interesting article. Part 2 looks intriguing aswell. ( delayed for more info).
Hi RM. Thanks for giving me the latest link. The other one was ok when I published it but as you say articles get moved.
I was waiting for his follow-up before I published this post but as you say it appears to be delayed.
I think Megrahi is innocent of Lockerbie. Its fairly clear he was "fitted up" by the CIA to provide a convenient scapegoat for the crime.
As I undestand it government ministers must back the judiciary or else the rule of law will fall. So Salmond and MacAskill have to back a decision taken by a Scottish Court, even one held in Holland with no jury.
I'm wary of Inquiries. I doubt if they will achieve much. They will cost a fortune and unless the USA tells us the truth will not get to the true story.
Our best hope is Wikileaks!
You're right of course Strathturret. An inquiry is only as good as the information it receives. Look at the Iraq inquiry. Those who were in power at the time are all lying to protect each other.
