Hi Rosie, that was funny!
I've done the same thing some years, without that result. Hope you don't have too much snow, we're getting more today!
Have a fun week.

Hi Bunni, good to see you. I remember doing that years ago too, only to be told it was daft because the snow created an insulating layer on the house. So I haven't tried it again and, with putting up new rhones this year, I don't intend to do so.

Keep warm.

Well, Dram was to be found, on Tuesday, up a ladder, with an ice axe, chipping away at ice blocks. The melting snow had frozen against the rone pipes and was pushing the pipes of the wall. Many thumps were required before the piece around the pipe was broken up. Thereafter a neighbour and I used the ladder as a battering ram to break up snow and ice overhangs on my own, his and an other neighbours house. Well you just have to get on with it after all..... Meantime the buckets haven't been emptied for 2 weeks, but that's life, and not the transport ministers problem.

You could put a ladder up here Dram. There's still between 1-2ft of snow round the house, But daily the icicles are tapped down. I'm just hoping my rones are ok as they were only replaced in summer.

Our bins were emptied today - bang on time too.

Well that's one way to clear the gutters I suppose.
No snow here, basking in bright sunshine @=/- 2C.

It's still quite bad here banned and with it compacting it will take longer to thaw. However it is thawing. I can't see the heaps of snow/ice ever thawing though. They're being put on lorries and dumped elsewhere to make pavements more accessible I'm told.

Now, that's what I like to see - the philosophical approach to disaster.

Hope their insurers have the same outlook.
