A Little Good News

A little good news.  Remember this post a few weeks ago?  Twenty-year-old Steven Neary has been separated from his father for over a year. Not by choice - but by Hillingdon Council's social services department.

Now it seems Steven will be reunited with his father in time for Christmas. The full story is here.  My thanks to all of you who signed the petition.

Now my Christmas can be happy; I'm glad I signed up to this one.
Now, what about the video shown at

http://dickpuddlecote.blogspot.com/2010/12/knowing-whats-best-for-you.html

Back story not known but black-gloved thugs coming into your house two days before Christmas to take away a 16 y/o who doesn't want to go, and then threatening and using force to enforce ORDERS makes me shiver.

I've just been reading A Very British Dude on a similar issue, and posted my own experiences from some 30 years ago.
I wouldn't trust a Social Worker any further than I could throw her (and I'm banned from lifting more that 22 lbs)!

Aye, it's heart-warming Elaine.

Saw that at Dick's earlier Steve. Regardless of the background - and the father insisted there had been no crime committed or law broken - to have the three police and the goulish social worker even at my door, far less in my home, would be horrific.

I couldn't listen to anymore once the lad started yelling.

Yes EP, he has the same video as Dick. Neither would I. My faith in these people died nearly 30 years ago too. It pays to follow your gut instinct.

Very good news indeed and also that Sgt Mark Andrews who was filmed dragging Pamela Somerville through Melksham police station but got let off by the subsequent inquiry has been sacked by Wiltshire Police just in time to spoil his Xmas.
Perhaps the bloggosphere achieved something by raising awareness in both these cases.

Merry Christmas Subrosa

Morning banned. Aye but I found it strange that the policeman was sacked. After all he was, as you say, let off by an inquiry. Have they no faith in their justice system?

Merry Christmas to you and yours banned.
