Those Were the Days

A wee break from politics, when life was simple and children were well educated regardless of their parents circumstances.

I remember watching that while my mum did the ironing.

I've just been watching Downton Abbey. I managed to download the first two episodes. How lovely to see our country as it was in 1912.

No bloody foreigners and people treating each other with respect.

Brought a tear to my eye, it did.
Hoe well I remember it, Little Weed especially.
Pity it's all gone for ever.

Showing your age CH lol.

Sue, we're not getting Downton Abbey here. I must see if I can download it too.

It's a shame Steve. Pure pleasure it was.

Rosie, it was that post I did on Norman Wisdom that got you all nostalgic, wasn't it? If you've got SKY, you can get Downtown Abbey on 993 which is ITV London. I watched a recording of it tonight. Sue, when is it set I missed the first episode? They mentioned the war, was that not the 1st WW?

Used to watch this too, added to my playlist "old tv stuff" now at 112 listings.

What did the pregnant Weed ask?
Was it Bill or was it Ben?
(From junior school).

That's an idea banned, I must make a list of 'old' loved videos. Thanks.

It was DL, it was. :) Actually I was short of time to post last night and the video is one which brings back happy memories for me.

I've got a note of 993 now DL and I'll record future programmes. Maybe Sue could tell us if we can get the first two, or one in your case.

Subrosa. I think its on itv on Sundays but the first two have already aired.

Best place to check for torrents is probably Piratebay.

DL. The first episode centres around the sinking of The Titanic (1912).

Sue, thanks so much for that. I've never heard of Piratebay, but I have now. :)

Will look now.

And along came the children's programme controller and sprayed glyposate all over weed, who went "weeeeearghhh" and shrivelled up and died. While the flowerpot men stunned with shock, were battered to bits with a shovel. The children howled and the controller went on to be news chief at BBC Scotland and started to poison all the daft Jocks (and the shovel is in the cupboard).

Excellent Dram and not a million miles from the truth.
