Ageing Could Be a Thing of the Past

A dream come true but a little too late for me.

A Russian scientist, Professor Vladimir Skulachev, believes he has found an anti-ageing pill which will add decades to our lives. The drug works by halting the damaging effects of oxygen on the body's cells.

His findings have been backed up by the international community including Nobel prize winner Dr Gunter Blobel.

The professor claims the treatment will need two more years of clinical testing, which has already started, and thousands of people have registered to take part.

Now we're all going to live forever.  What a thought.

Or you could live in a Basement:-

"Just one foot height difference would get you older by 100 billionths of a second or 90 billionths of a second over 79 years of life,"

I suspect you didn't start early enough Rosie.

...well, those who can afford it, at least. Different news story, same implications.

(forgive the self-publicising - it's too long to copy out here!)

Well, the rich first of course Rosie. Just think, fancy the likes of Scrooge living forever with no redemption?! Still you could always depend on the banks giving you loans to get the pills, that way you could stay as a wages (payment) slave forever

I am reminded of the writings of Douglas Addams in the Hitchikers' Guide to the Galaxy.
Marvin was given an overhaul. "There you are Marvin. I've renewed all your servos, changed your oil, fitted new batteries and given you a thorough overhaul. You should last a lifetime!"
And Marvin replied "Oh no! Not another lifetime..."

Ah, that's why I look so youthful Joe. I've always kept my feet on the ground. :)

Super link, thanks.

Macheath, self-publicity isn't a bad thing. I now remember reading that post of yours and agreeing with your conclusion.

The very thought Dram. I don't think I'd want to live until I crumbled.

I know how Marvin felt Dioclese. :)
