Today's Non-Story

The Japan Sumo Association is distributing about 60 iPads among all the 51 training stables and top association officials from this week.

Why? Because the sumo association believe the iPad is big enough to cater for wrestlers' fat fingers, unlike the smaller keys on mobile phones, according to reports.

The sport's powers-that-be are hoping, by introducing this latest technology, sharing of information among sumo leaders will be improved.

Although it is a non-story, I can only hope these anonymous NHS managers don't take it into their heads to distribute iPads to anyone recorded obese. Stranger things have happened within our heathcare system.

Dear me, subrosa, the Beatles have put on the beef since they were last photographed on Abbey Road

Surely it would have been cheaper for them to have bought some chopsticks, cut them into small enough lengths for them to hold and press the keys with - Simple!

Brownlie! I'm delighted we're on the same wavelength!

Unfortunately Billy today's touch phones require special pen things. I have one and it's quite weird.

Much cheaper than an iPad of course. :)

I can't fathom the connection?

An iPad might have bigger 'keys', but you can't use it to make a phone call. An ordinary, cheaper netbook has 'normal' keys for e-mailing.

Auch you're right Joe and an iPad doesn't have a USB either.

I think within 6 months these 'deficits' will be amended.

Maybe the sumos don't want to talk to each other though. They prefer the 'distant' type of communication. :)

Let's face it, proportionately, an iPad to a Sumo is similar to an iPhone to you & I.
