Did you know today is the last day of National Ice Cream Month? Neither did I but The Consumerist has decided to mark the occasion with some less than mouth-watering ice cream flavours.
First in the glass is pictured above. Any guesses about the flavour? Looks slightly almond coloured to me but it's not. Morelli's of London sell it and it should be the ice cream of choice for many Scots. Why? Because it's Haggis Ice Cream.
If you're ever tempted to visit Venezuela, be sure to visit Heladeria de Lares in Lares to sample their Sardine and Brandy Ice Cream or if you intend to visit Japan in the near future you'll find Squid Ink Ice Cream is all the rage there.
Candied Bacon Ice Cream could catch on as a breakfast dish in warm countries, but my favourite would be Collagen Lemon Ice Cream although I think all it would plump up is my hips. Of course there's Viagra Ice Cream, Dracula Cool Garlic Mint Ice Cream and for those with far more money than taste Foie Gras Ice Cream is for you. Wonder if they sell that in Harrods.

A Turkish nine euro note says that there is no more haggis in this than in our home made shortbread. The taste is most likely to arise from a dash of one form of synthetic chemical with the colouring benefiting from something else with a synthetic inert cynanide base. Enjoy.

I've actually ordered and eaten from there (for a bet) and it was surprisingly good!
I think I'll be sticking with Mackie's of Scotland - highly recommended.

Quite possibly Demetrius. I won't go out of my way to try it but I'll tell some friends who visit London often. They may decide the place is worth a visit.
Off to have a look at your suggestion ASE. That reminds me must order more fennel and peppermint tea. Tesco's have stopped stocking it.
Aye Mackie's is good Tcheuchter. Not as creamy as it used to be though, but the type with the crunchie in it is fine. :)
The people who know about ice-cream (that's me and the boay!) are more than happy with plain vanilla, no hundreds or thousands, no strawberry sauce and no chocolate flake (well, not when the boay is about ;-)) Just a simple cone in the park is enough.

I prefer plain vanilla myself Jim, but if I'm in Italy I'll sometimes give flavours a try.
Lovely photo that is and I will make an effort to go to the Brooklynn cafe when next in Glasgow and I have the car. These roadworks on the A9 have put me off all this year.

There's plenty time for him to learn aboot nougats, let's just get him mastering the cone with making a mess before we move onto the really sticky stuff ;-)
