Afghanistan

Another soldier, from the 5th Regiment Royal Artillery, was killed in Afghanistan today. He is the 313th member of the UK Armed Forces to die since 2001.

This comes the day after the government announced the area would be handed to US Marines by the end of the year.

The spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Lt Col James Carr-Smith, said: "He was part of a patrol that was seeking to exploit freedom of movement for local Afghans, ISAF and Afghan Security Forces when tragically he was killed in an explosion."

Bring our military home.

How much better it would be if we quit NOW! It really would change the course of history for the better.

I think Labour have blown the Army away in Afghanistan. It is time to renew and rebuild, they have done enough.

It would indeed OR yet our political masters have another agenda. What it is I don't know - whether they know is doubtful too.

They're exhausted Demetrius yet they'll continue as ordered.
