'Suicide' Inquiry to be Reopened

The investigation into the death of weapons inspector Dr David Kelly is likely to be reopened.

The case has concerned Attorney General Dominic Grieve and - as the highest ranking law officer in England - he is considering an inquiry to review the suicide finding. At the same time Justice Secretary Ken Clarke is considering a request from campaigning doctors to release medical files relating to the death.

Medical experts have repeatedly questioned whether Dr Kelly could have taken his own life in the circumstances described by Lord Hutton upon the completion of his inquiry.

In January, it came to light that Lord Hutton secretly classified vital evidence relating to Dr Kelly's death, including medical and scientific records, the post-mortem report and photographs, for 70 years. This information was not included in the Hutton Report. A 30-year ban was placed on 'records provided which were not produced in evidence'.

A number of doctors have worked ceaselessly to secure an inquest into this case. They deserve their inquiry.

I have been following this Subrosa and it is very good news.

I think this just might be the start of things coming back to haunt Labour.

You only have to look at one thing without seeing any of the other evidence and that is - if Dr Kelly only committed suicide then why the need for all the evidence and records to be locked away under the secrecy orders for all that time? - Stinks to high heaven!

I'm pleased to hear this too Billy. I've read Norman Baker's book and other info from the medics fighting for Dr Kelly's rights really. All have my admiration.

I have an entirely subjective point of view, with no more evidence than has been released in the Press, but I think it is obvious that Dr Kelly was murdered, and I would not be in the slightest bit surprised if Blair and Campbell were involved somewhere along the line.

I remember Bliar's face when told his instruction to Campbell, "Shut this guy up and I don't care how" had been implemented. Probably a phone call to The UK spooks was then relayed to Bush's goons and trail carelessly laid to cover tracks. Oh how wonderful if this is revealed.

This is great news. Kelly was undoubtedly murdered. Another part of the dirty, sleazy legacy of new Labour.Hope justice is done!

It's fairly obvious that he didn't commit suicide in the way Hutton stated English Viking. Nothing would surprise me about who was involved.

subrosa said...

I just hope that any inquiry is thorough OR and we have the top legals involved.

subrosa said...

Some form of justice needs to be done TT. Hutton wasn't justice. It was a farce.

If an inquiry finds the truth, Hutton should be jailed for perverting the course of justice.

Excellent; already in no time at all, the Coalition is showing how dark and devious the previous incumbents were.

If David Kelly commited suicide then Tony Bliar is a Bhuddist yogi living on one grain of brown rice a year in total seclusion from the material world...
Never believed the story from day one, as I read the news that day my only thought and comment was" they've killed him".

I only hope that the ones responsible will go to jail for ever!!!
No wonder Bliar became a catholic, no one else WOULD forgive his sin's!

This enquiry is important in another way. If the outcome is murder then this opens the way for a number of other enquiries into labour crimes.

Without this such enquiries would look petty and vindictive.

But he won't be of course EV because his was not 'independent'. If I remember correctly he had no real power. It was one man's opinion.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

We knew that though Elby. In fact Ed Balls let it be shown exactly how devious they were this weekend didn't he? His remarks about immigration go against everything he and his colleagues were preaching for the past decade.

Indyan, good morning. Along with the others you too don't believe the Hutton report.

Speaks volumes doesn't it that opinions on the death of Dr Kelly are all similar.

Then again, Blair thought we were all mugs. He still does as he trips around the world picking up his billions.

subrosa said...

That's an excellent point Michael. There are other inquiries which could be re-opened if this one gets anywhere near the truth.

To (nearly) paraphrase a previous Home Secretary, if they've nothing to fear, why hide it for 70 years?

70!!

The more you read the less you believe. And, if your told to believe what's written, there's very little worthy of belief.

Wallis Simpson, a Nazi spy; her poodle Edward V111 a Fascist sympathiser. As were the Rt Hon., Ramsay Macdonald ex PM, Lord McCormack head of ICI and many other Captains of Industry and of the Establishment.

The Holy See who helped 10,000 Fascist war criminal to escape through their ratlines, taking Nazi loot in payment for the services rendered including new identities and funding puppet Fascist governments in Eastern Europe irrespective of the atrocities they committed in an attempt to prevent the spread of communism.

Their excuse; governments are only temporal while the Church if eternal?

Secrets and Lies employed in any Democracy cheapen the word to an euphemism for fascism.

The miracle is, considering the donkeys we allow to lead us, we still have a world to live in.

Poor Dr Kelly's family having to face their grief again whether it was suicide or not.
The doctors want this case properly examined as it did not apparently go through the correct medical and legal processing and is therefore unacceptable to their professional code of practice - apart from their suspicion over the sparce and atypical medical 'facts' given in 'evidence' at Hutton.
Whether any substantial evidence will be available to review this case definatively remains to be seen. Along with the reportedly 100year seclusion of the Dunblane evidence, 70 years for Dr Kelly's papers seems light. Whether our grandchildren will be interested in 2080 I don't know - but I suppose that's the point.

Quite clearly politicians had something to hide when not having a proper coroner's inquest. A hearing in this case has been wholly inadequate.

I very much look forward to seeing a full disclosure of all salient evidence that has so shamefully been suppressed.

Good thing too, I was going to query

"to release medical files relating to the death" What secret files? But you went on to provide the answer, thank you.

subrosa said...

Let me guess Joe. It wouldn't have been a Labour Home Secretary would it?

subrosa said...

What a wonderful conclusion RA and so very, very true.

subrosa said...

The family are being silent Clarinda but, if they know the conclusions of the medics, surely they will welcome another inquiry.

That is the point indeed. All of us who were suspicious to any degree will be gone and I doubt if the papers will even achieve a line in the online papers (because that's all there will be then).

subrosa said...

Yes JJ, a legal inquiry is long overdue.

subrosa said...

Aye banned, it's such a pity we can't protest against these types of decisions by the great and the good. Politicians say we can do so at the ballot box but that's nonsense.

Every credit to the medics and Norman Baker who have refused to give up on this case.

What a pity that we cannot also look forward to the opening of the files on Willie Macrae of the SNP and Thomas Hamilton the Dunblane mass murderer. There is apparently a need to keep the details of these incidents secret as they are not in the public interest. The hand of the state was very close to these events.

On a final note, my recently deceased mum, (State Registered Nurse circa WW2) was entirely apolitical but the one thing that got her goat off the TV news was anything to do with Dr. Kellys' so called suicide.

subrosa said...

If this inquiry goes ahead and someone can make a great case for re-opening these inquiries KBW, I see no reason why they shouldn't be permitted.

subrosa said...

I can understand your Mum banned. Even someone like me who has no medical knowledge feels what we've been told so far is rubbish.
