Tony Blair has recently told friends he needs £5 million a year to fund his lifestyle.
He's nothing to worry about though, not yet anyway. He's recently agreed to be paid £700,000 a year to act as a 'strategic advisor' to Khosia Ventures, a venture capitalist firm founded by Indian billionaire Vinod Khosia.
His role? To advise the company on how to make money from the climate change scam.
In a recent statement Mr Blair said: "Solving the climate crisis is more than just a political agenda item; it's an urgent priority that requires innovation, creativity and ambition."
It is urgent Mr Blair. The climate change sceptics are now being acknowledged in high places.

That man has no principles. I despair that him and his ilk have brought the UK to it's Knees. And all he is after is money. Shows how principled the left is.
At£700k pa & 50% Tax rate, our hard-pressed Treasury stands to benefit from Mr Khosia's generosity.

I believe Blair has non dom tax status plus we will be paying for his bodyguards. Its a strange world.
William, is that first caveat true???
A few other thoughts:
i. There's nowt inherently wrong with venture capitalism, any more than with a shop taking on a new product line;
ii. The risk of man-induced -ve effects on the environment is palpable is real and should be monitored;
iii. Anyone claiming to oppose climate change is a twit 'cos the climate always changes;
iv. Tony Blair is the most self-enriching PM since Lloyd-George;
v. Tony Blair is cool.

... and another politician, a FibDem somebody in the treasury has been apparently mistaken and misunderstood in his interpretation of Westmidden's Capital Gains legislature.
Uh Huh, that might be a triffle awkward for Danny bhoy. One FibDem politico ex minister making a "fiscal mistake" is unfortunate. But two in a row in so short a time? Shurely no coincidence
Aye, the 22 committee will be pleased. So which Fib Dem somebody will be the next to be erm... "outed"?
Or perhaps a wettish Tory somebody whose leanings are not quite in line with some of our neo con establishment somebodies will be the next unfortunate on their "things to do" list.

Is my memory correct in that I recall that one T Blair walked because all his expense records were allegedly shredded, so there was no evidence any more. Convenient but !
Another little cost cutting exercise that Cameron can introduce.
Past Ministers (Prime, Defence and NI), who expect/demand/deserve protection from people who hate them, can only receive that protection free when going about non profit making work in the UK.
If they are earning vast amounts going abroad they should be expected to fork out at least some of the cost of their protection.
Incidentally, as comments from various people have shown, British subjects travelling abroad are often in need of some sort of protection from a world full of people who hate the British government even more than we do, and are happy to take it out on "ordinary" people. Maybe we should all get bodyguards at Blair’s or Thatcher's or Major’s, or Brown's expense.

I just goes to show that a former salesman (and that's being generous, most folk would describe him as a con man or worse) can have a nice little earner or two or three in the here after since peddling other folk's ideas and digestive sugestions. Of course it's all wheeling and dealing in government now, between the losers who are grandstanding because they've got whopping salaries now and the Tories who'd sell their grannies for power.
