Scotland's Gift To The UK?

Is This Labours' National Express Lobbying Result or.......

Another excuse for selling off gold for peanuts? Perhaps this will be a reason to delay until June. The battle bus isn't ready? How about some ideas as to getting it back onto the ravine pass? Perhaps Prezza and Blinky could lean on the front whilst Peter P. wraps his snake tongue round the back axle? Go on, how to get the gold back! Of course if they do get it on the road how much will the fuel cost? Of course Labour wish to say we might go back to 80s. Well, then petrol cost 28p a litre , a pint of beer was 35p. Works for me. In fact in Jan. 2009, petrol was 90p and beer £1.10p. What the ???? happened?

The price of capitalism SB which can only cycle on boom, bust only now we have peaked on the boom years resulting in less boom and more busts. Fact of life I am afraid when we live on a finite planet.

How to get the gold back..Labour answers.

Balls - Tax it until it comes back.

Mandelson - sell it on a collect it yourself basis to the Russians.

Miliband - Run away.

Harman - shout "Ashcroft" until something happens.

Darling - weep.

Brown - Let it all fall out the back but tell everyone it was a great idea as the gold was just sitting around in the bus. Then, when the disaster leaks out, blame Thatcher for amassing it all in the first place.

Vince Cable - Says he foresaw the whole thing and recommended putting up 30mph and 'sharp bend' signs several months ago. No one cares.

Capitalism, if well managed, can work reasonably well though CH. Problem is it hasn't been over the past 13 years.

Quality is seldom cheap muddypaws.

Ah Sophia, cheap pubs aren't our thing are they?

Indeed it should have been OR. :)

Where could you get beer at £1.10 a pint in Jan 2009?

subrosa said...

You'll have to ask OldRightie that DL. Mind you he lives in deepest Englandshire so perhaps has found a decent pub.

Hythlodaeus said...

Where are you finding your beer? I haven't seen a pint that cheap...erm...since I've been of legal drinking age!

The main reason why petrol will never be that cheap again is because there is far more demand now. China and India consume gigantic quantities and always need more.
If we want fuel that cheap again, we really need to be making more moves towards hydrogen based cars and so on

I'll have to ask OldRightie to answer that Hythlodaeus because it's his post not mine.

I suspect he's found a pub in the middle of nowhere.

A decent pint of local beer around these parts is still circa £2.30p. Since January 2009 Snotty has had 5 tax hikes on beer whilst ensuring his whisky tipple was kept suppressed.

Capitalism well managed Rosa?

Possibly, but my definition of well managed capitalism would be an anathema to the its present masters.

They demand its freedom and howl in protest at any mention of responsibility.

The present bunch associate capitalism with pure greed RA. That's most of the problem.
