There you go - how close the promises of religions and politics match.

We have St Faith, St Hope and St Charity.

St Faith wants us to forgive his 13 years of stealth taxes, financial failures, illegal wars and serial killings. Of increased gaps between rich and poor and the £1.4 trillion of debt he's loaded on the poor that will invariably increase that burden. He wants us to have Faith and give him another five years so he can inflict the pain.

St Hope, wants to give us...well 'Hope' Without changing anything really other than shuffling bums and the locations of seats. He's part of the same club that backed the wars because that's what the club does when the establishment push is told by the corporate shove. Hope, hopes we will bleat our way over to his pen.

St Charity. Well he's hoping the mediocrity of the other two will make some feel charitable enough towards his own unthreatening underdog mediocrity. In truth the most reactionary of all, the dream of returning to any sort of power binds them more to the system than any of the others.

Faith, Hope and Charity a losing bet which make the betting odds irrelevant.

Just as a sidebar.

GE must be very good for soldiers in conflict zones.

Afghanistan on hold is it? Or is it merely a news blackout?

Here! Here! Crinkly - excellent posts!

Do you notice how similar religious leaders and politicians are when it comes to answering sensible questions. They both try to avoid the question or try to flannel you with a load of drivel.

The urbane science of rhetoric Billy.

Great summary RA. :) Oh Afghanistan is on a news blackout. Brown ordered it.

subrosa said...

That's why they get these jobs Billy, speaking without saying anything constructive is the only qualification required.

If nobody is dying Rosa, then at least some good is coming out of the farce.

That's true RA, although I'm not sure what's going on there. Blogs etc have been stopped yet someone will get through with information.

Brown didn't want Afghanistan mentioned during the election. I hope the blogosphere remember that. I do.
