Stack's 'Rant'
Most of you will have heard or read about Joe Stack (pictured above), an American who flew a plane into a tax office building in Austin, Texas this week.
He left a 'suicide note' in the form of a text document online and it is being referred to as a ramble or rant by much of the media.
Decide for yourself. It's certainly worth reading. The paragraph which struck the biggest chord with me was:
I remember reading about the stock market crash before the "great" depression and how there were wealthy bankers and businessmen jumping out of windows when they realized they screwed up and lost everything. Isn't it ironic how far we've come in 60 years in this country that they now know how to fix that little economic problem; they just steal from the middle class (who doesn't have any say in it, elections are a joke) to cover their asses and it's "business-as-usual". Now when the wealthy fuck up, the poor get to die for the mistakes... isn't that a clever, tidy solution.
Thanks to Richard

The aircraft wasn't anywhere near big enough.
Maybe he didn't intend to kill anyone except himself. I don't know Marvo.
Good way to attract attention though.
But I can think of many better ones, with or without an aircraft to hand.
Don't tell me Marvo. I may be tempted by one of them.
After reading what Joe Stack has written, there are many of us who have said the same or similar, thought the same or similar, for the same or similar reasons, and in the heat of the moment may well have taken similar actions.
Until the practice of government of this and other countries changes for the benefit of the citizens of these countries, more people who feel as Joe Stack will take the same way of making their point.
Time to re-evaluate who are the terrorists and who are the oppressors, this may take a lot of thinking about, some people may not like the answers. And they may be the people who are currently running the country, supposedly for the benefit of the Citizens.
D.
Your interpretation is similar to mine Apogee. This man was obviously pulled just that little bit too far.
How do we go about re-evaluating when people continue to vote for the oppressors?
The people who vote for the oppressors do so because of fear and because they do not see a better alternative. As things get worse for them, and there is still no better alternative, as they see it, then a lot of them will get violent, and then the results will be unpredictable. But that will be their re-evaluation.
It will depend on the oppressors and who will fight for them.If any one.
D.
Didn't realise you had this on the blog.
Apogee has covered it well enough.
Fact is these stupid greedy fools have all of us living on borrowed time. We really do need to cut apart from the dinosaur dynasty at Westminster.
Do you no longer love me then?
We also need to ensure Scotland's politics don't follow the same line RA.
As Apogee says people vote for what they know and it's very hard to introduce change.
Percy how can you say that when I adore your verse.
I see there is an article, if you can call it that, in the 'Hootsmon' which states that more young people are expect to vote.
That will be bad news for new Labour then. In Scotland leastways, where there is a commendable alternative to the tweedledee, tweedledum and tweedledem Westmidden baggage we have apparently been saddled with for what seems time with end in the past.
Apparently Capability, Prudence, MacCavity Broon has informed the chattering classes that New Labour's general election campaign will be launched in Coventry.
So what happened to previously preferred regions and locations sympathetic to the comrades? Like the North East, parts of Wales and bandit country such as Weegieland and the Lanarkshire fiefdoms of New Labour?
No longer reliable then, perhaps?
I also noted that the article in the Coventry telegraph stated that hundreds of New Labour supporters will be attending.
... surely a missprint did they not mean thousands of New Labour supporters.
...and one prominent, local New Labour Politico is definitely taking the pi$$.
Last week the same local newspaper, the Coventry Telegraph revealed how the erm 'local' University Hospital PFI scam will cost taxpayers £3-3 billion- eight times its £380 capital value. That makes it the most expensive new hospital to be built with private cash and the second most expensive private finance initative scheme in NHS history.
But this local, afore mentioned New Labour politico worthy does not believe patients in Coventry and Warwickshire should be saddled with the huge bill for the next three decades.
He is calling on the government to step in and help some NHS trusts to renegotiate their crippling PFI contracts to get a better deal.
He admits that the cost of building the University Hospital seemed to have got out of hand !!!
So who is this sage New Labour political worthy?
None other than Geoffrey Robinson MP for Coventry North West and who incidentally represents me (not).
This is the fella who was New Labour's Paymaster General and a minister In New Labour's Westmidden Governance in the late 1990's. erm in charge of expediting financial aspects and planning of New Labour's PFI scams.
Uh Huh, Geoffrey is really taking the piss with that platitudinal utterance. He's on a par with his neighbour and fello New Labour MP who incidentially was also a champion of PFI and in particular, this hospital which was built on his patch.Ainsworth by name
Does anyone know what the definition of a collective of New labour knunts are called? In particular the three parasites that Coventry gives succur to.
Just asking.
Wisnaeme, I missed that. Then again I only give a very brief scan of the Scotsman or Herald these days. Most coverage of Scotland is in the English or German papers I find.
Off to see what you've discovered.
..and some folk could possibly interpret my previous post as 'My rant'and nought to do with the subject under discussion.
So with regard to the aeroplane chappie's rant and I quote...
"Now when the wealthy fuck up, the poor get to die for the mistakes."
Uh Huh.
He certainly wouldn't go to the NE wisnaeme, not after selling out the specialised steel industry to Tata so as they can get their massive grants to build other plants in India.
Eight times capital value? Isn't that a disgrace? Surely the tories or libdems can use that in election material.
Ah so another labour MP trying to save the skin off his backside. I see.
I thought he must be a pal of Aintworthit. From the same mould from the sound of it. Exactly the type whathisname wouldn't sit beside in a standard class rail carriage.
Tricons?
Personally on reading Mr Stack's letter I got the impression he was a hard working man who had been broken by events rather than the ranting lunatic the MSM have been making him out to be both here in the UK and in the US.
I would say that's an accurate assessment DiF.
