Prescott the Hypocrite

Isn't it amazing how many senior labour party politicians have jumped onto the airwaves to support Gordon Brown in the bullying saga when only a matter of weeks ago many declined to support him in the Hoon/Hewitt attack?

As Filthy Engineer says: 'And this man was Deputy Prime Minister?'

Do watch it to the end when Andrew Warmsley throws in the punch line.

Who needs enemies when you have friends like this?

The Labour line seems to be 'We're not bullies, and if you say we are, we'll finish you'.

There's a lot of that sort of thing about nowadays.

They've even wheeled out Alan Sugar to state that he doesn't think such things constitute bullying. Well, he wouldn't...

Surely what Prescott did to his unfortunate secretary was significantly worse than bullying?

Exactly Demetrius.

Jings LI, I haven't heard about Sugar arriving on the scene. Labour are certainly calling in all the favours about this. Interesting indeed.

Yoohoo brownlie, maybe his ex-secretary wouldn't agree. ;)

"Prescott Loses it on Newsnight"

Prescott lost it the moment he entered office as our Deputy Prime Minister and handed some sort of super ministery...

Auch Allan, he at least learnt to play croquet. :)

Allan, his Super Ministry should have been labelled Ministry Of Implementing EU Supremacy since that is what it did.
Was Paxman pissed during that interview?

Didn't occur to me about Paxman. I think he's just perhaps pissed off with politicians.

In the run up to the 1999 European elections the BBC2 and Radio 4 ran a join series of programmes where people could call in and ask questions. I rang in before the programme went on air to put the question to John Prescott if he had found out what the European Union's withholding tax was as he had made a prat of himself in Parliament as he knew nothing about it shortly before.

While waiting on line for the programme to start I could hear the gentle voices of women chating in the studio, suddenly to be disturbed by a gruff voice effing and blinding about a lack of shaving facilities. After wondering who this foul mouthed and extremely rude individual was I suddenly realised it was John Prescott.

As soon as we went on air he was as nice as you like, but he still didn't answer my question on the withholding tax and fudged it completely.

He would have had an excuse though Derek, possibly that MPs work so much harder than anyone else and are under so much more pressure.

Did it surprise you he didn't answer your question? I doubt if he knows the price of a loaf of bread.
