It Wasn't To Be His Day

Yesterday wasn't to be his day. Andy Murray just couldn't beat the superior playing of Roger Federer, even though he gave it his all and a bit more.

Federer had the extra confidence of having won 15 grand slams and Murray had the pressure of achieving his first but the better player won on the day.

The Scot gave me much pleasure this past week and being in another grand slam final is no mean feat.

Scotland is very proud of you Andy, of that there is no doubt. Your day will come.

Andy had a great tournament, but came up against a better opponent on the day.

He could walk of the court with his head held high. He was a credit to Scotland.

Like Scottish independence, a Murry grand slam title is now when rather than if.

Yes well played Andy.

We should be proud. No 3 in the world in a sport as widespread as tennis is a great achievment.

I think this match taught him what it takes to win a major. He'll take one this year I'm sure. Keep at it Andy!!!

Bit like this damn government then, SR?

BTW, sorry for AM.

I was accused of being daft here because I cried along with him and I'm not ashamed to say Dubbie.

A credit indeed and yes when rather than if.

I see he's now ranked no 3 as from today.

Auch scunnert, I've just typed that to Dubbie, should have read your comment first. :)

Aye WFW, and it can't come soon enough. Still bothered about the tories though, I'm not happy about them. Tory Totty is a good thermometer regarding their performance and she's not happy either.

Yes there seem to be murmorings that the Tory lead is not so secure? I rather fancy a hung parliament with Vince in No 11. He's the only one of the UK politicos who sounds like he knows what he's talking about. I guess idiots don't become chief economist of Shell!

As a good Nationalist I think there is little to choose between Brown and Cameron. Cameron strikes me as an obvious Blair clone.

In all honesty, we should have set up a National Government when the banks went under.

I'd go with Ken Clark, Alastair Darling and Cable as a golden Triumvirate.

Vince Cable has quite a colourful political history Strathturret. It's a wonder you never met him during his Glasgow days.

Yes he would have been a Labour Councillor when I lived in Glasgow I think. I can't say I was that interested in Glasgow Council matters!

I don't think many Glasgow labour councillors are either Strathturret! Was reading recently their attendance record is dreadful. Must have been one of the councillor blogs.
