This committee seems like a complete waste of time. He has been released and the committee can't change it. Just an excuse for wee Bill Aitken to stand on his soap box.
Almost every committee vote was SNP 3 against Labour 3, Con 1 and Lib 1. A piece of party political points scoring.
And anyone with half a brain knows that Megrahi was innocent of Lockerbie.
Waste of time and money Strathturret, but allows political posturing from the unionists. Rather like their behaviour with the Independence Bill but that will come back to bite them if the SNP play their cards correctly.
For those both for and against to decide on purely party lines removes any credibility from the report.
That unfortunately is a trait endemic in politics that denies democracy to the veto of gangs.
The reputation of Scottish justice was tarnished when it bought into a CIA script and refused to edit an evidence trail that was a farce.
Since the Megrahi farce the CIA have refined their procedures and skipped justice in favour of rendition.
However, let's look at the bright side. At least one man has benefited by a Scottish decision that wasn't passed through the mill of Westminster.
So all in all - a failure for the judiciary - a failure for the justice system under unionism - failure for the police involved - and a wavering pass for the SNP government.

Reports of his death seem also to be premature!

Of course the man was innocent.
All of a piece with the manoeuvring on Margo MacDonald's bill - party advantage before principle, every time. What worthless scum they are.
