For a considerable time I've been reading EU Referendum and its sister blog Defence of the Realm.
As many of you may know Richard North has, for the past months, been investigating the adventures of Rajenda Pachauri, the chair of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change). A David and Goliath story right enough!
For anyone interested in the climate change debate they will know Richard, along with millions of others, was called a 'flat-earther' by our Prime Minister in addition to the honorary title of 'deniers' give to us cynics by the climate change lobbyists.
I do not doubt for a moment that the climate changes. My doubts arose from the now ridiculed claims such as polar bears would be extinct before we knew it and the Himalayan glaciers would be melted by 2035.
Richard North has shown one blogger can take on an international organisation and with considerable success. May I congratulate him for his tenacity and his exposure of the myth that our behaviour is the single cause of climate change. Yes, we do need to continue to reduce pollution, but it is also our responsibility to ensure our political representatives know we are not prepared to fatten the wallets of those who have pedaled these fables. It's time our government stopped using our money in this manner.
Should the tories be elected in May, they must arrange further debate on this issue. Will they be courageous enough to face up to the evidence which now unfolds?

The Tories can open up the debate as much as they like but as the environment is an EU competence they would be wasting their time.
Another reason why we need out of the EU!
Given the conservatives have said they see a 'revolution in green investment' as a cornerstone in there plan for the expansion of the British economy.

I don't think they would be completely wasting their time WfW. If there was strong debate and strong opinion, surely our elected MEPs would be required to pass the results on?
Public opinion can influence change or are you saying ' too late, too late. the UK doesn't matter now'?
Afternoon Niko. The IPCC seem to have been found out and that will make uncomfortable reading for all those who fully support climate change.
I wonder, say in the next year or so, how many flat-earthers there will be then, once these people who have pedaled this wrong information are publicly exposed.
The EU has been a success surely?
Peace in Europe since 1945.
A long queue of countries trying to obtain membership.
Free movement of labour across Europe.
Equalisation of all sorts of standards across the EU.
Nobody asking to leave.
Only Norway has looked and said no.

No serious party are in favour of leaving.
BNP/UKIP are not serious parties.
You're right of course Strathturret. Political parties have so much more to gain from the EU than most of the population.
I wonder why they won't give a referendum just to see public opinion then Strathturret. The result would be of interest to many I'm sure.
Not that there could be much done about it, until Scotland becomes independent. Then England etc would have to re-apply.
