“His property is a disgusting blight on the community and an environmental hazard, with leaking oil containers, rusted shacks and abandoned vehicles dumped everywhere. It is a very poor image and representation for the world to see of Scotland.
“Instead of wasting the court’s resources, he should spend time cleaning up his land so it does not look like a slum — and a low-level slum at that. Perhaps he thinks that by creating an eyesore I will pay more for his land.”
How's that for compliments? It pleases me that I'm not within the aim of Mr Trump's venom because I would be reviled for looking like a downtrodden bag lady some days.

Wow. I hadn't seen the full quote. It makes you realise just what a horrible man Trump really is. For all his talk of hailing from Scotland and being proud of his roots, his vision of the country is clearly the tartan shortbread box version.
Mr Forbes seems like your average local, as found in any part of Scotland outside the central belt. Seems like a good lad and I fully support his efforts to trump Trump.

Mr Trump is an obnoxious example of the unseemly excesses of wealth and greed (the two often go hand in hand).
His plans for a golf course should never have been allowed. Give someone like Trump an inch and he will take a mile – or two – or three – or more still.
Well, Mr Trump is prepared to pay top dollar for a bit of land and invest a load of money in generating tourism, jobs, business etc, so in the spirit of being consistent, I fail to see how I can't support Trump.
As a general rule, if the NIMBYs are against it, then I'm in favour.
I'm glad you put this quote up as I listened last night to Mr Trump stating that Mr Forbes lived "like a pig" in filth that was no better than a pig-sty and a national disgrace to Scotland! Does he think this slanderous outburst endears the rest of us to the Trump cause?
Leaving the legal rights and wrongs of the land possession etc. aside - of what relevance are Mr Forbes' life-style choices to Mr Trump? I find this bullying attack particularly offensive as it has been launched with the stated presumption that the rest of us are in agreement with his noxious statements against Mr Forbes.
If Mr Trump wishes to sling insults Mr Forbes' way - would he kindly have the courage to do so himself without his pathetic attempts to incriminate me.
It's my belief that this project will be an abject failure for Trump and eventually end up as Scotland's most prestigious science park. That is if Labour hasn't got back in control at the time.
My advice to any Scottish contractors is get your money up front.

The reason for the first two being named and shamed is down to the simple fact the word 'Scotland' is included in their name.
All the public shaming which has been concentrated on these two banks is looking more and more like a political ploy to spread fear in Scotland and undermine the push for independence by playing on peoples insecurity.

I didn't realise he would resort to such insults John. Rather goes against him with the locals.
Mark, many were pro this project. What has happened is that since the initial planning was passed, Trump now wants more land and it has homes on it. The people in the homes say they were told they wouldn't be affected by his project.
Now he's decided he wants this further land and is putting compulsory purchase orders on it. That's why there is protest.
I wouldn't have thought you'd support someone who is prepared to lie in order to force 6 people out of their homes.

Whilst I was in favour of this when I first heard about it the idea of forcing people out of their homes - which was not in the original application - will, I hope, be opposed by all concerned. Making such remarks will only serve to turn those who might have been in favour take exactly the opposite view.
My thoughts exactly brownlie. I certainly think this is going to be a project which does not do anything for Scotland now, yet I supported it initially.

I've seen it on TV KBW and think I agree with you, but for Trump to behave in such an infantile manner doesn't help his case.

The people of Aberdeen would still have been 'let down' by labour or the libdems if they were in government.
