Compliments Trump Style

Yesterday, Molly Forbes lodged legal papers with the Edinburgh Sheriff Court against Donald Trump, reputedly one of the most successful businessmen in the world. She is protesting about Donald Trump's ability to change the planning permission he was granted recently. The Two Doctors has further details.

The Times takes up the story this morning. Molly Forbes, as some of you may know, is the mother of Michael Forbes who has refused to sell his property at Balmedie, near Aberdeen, to Mr Trump. Allegedly stamping his feet during one of his daily tantrums Donald Trump raved:

"Over the years, my representatives and I have often seen Mr Forbes and he has always been dirty, sloppy and unkempt in his personal appearance and demeanour,” Mr Trump said.

“While he is a terrible representative for Scotland, whenever the cameras are rolling, he parades in front of the press looking groomed and wearing a kilt — he truly enjoys the attention that he would never have received without Donald Trump. In a recent television interview that was broadcast in the United States, Mr Forbes made Scotland and its people look terrible. He is a loser who is seriously damaging the image of both Aberdeenshire and his great country.

“His property is a disgusting blight on the community and an environmental hazard, with leaking oil containers, rusted shacks and abandoned vehicles dumped everywhere. It is a very poor image and representation for the world to see of Scotland.

“Instead of wasting the court’s resources, he should spend time cleaning up his land so it does not look like a slum — and a low-level slum at that. Perhaps he thinks that by creating an eyesore I will pay more for his land.”

How's that for compliments? It pleases me that I'm not within the aim of Mr Trump's venom because I would be reviled for looking like a downtrodden bag lady some days.

Wow. I hadn't seen the full quote. It makes you realise just what a horrible man Trump really is. For all his talk of hailing from Scotland and being proud of his roots, his vision of the country is clearly the tartan shortbread box version.

Mr Forbes seems like your average local, as found in any part of Scotland outside the central belt. Seems like a good lad and I fully support his efforts to trump Trump.

Trump makes The Mafia seem decent. As for the comb over, please............

My compliments and best wishes on their success go to Mr Forbes and his mother.

Mr Trump is an obnoxious example of the unseemly excesses of wealth and greed (the two often go hand in hand).

His plans for a golf course should never have been allowed. Give someone like Trump an inch and he will take a mile – or two – or three – or more still.

Well, Mr Trump is prepared to pay top dollar for a bit of land and invest a load of money in generating tourism, jobs, business etc, so in the spirit of being consistent, I fail to see how I can't support Trump.

As a general rule, if the NIMBYs are against it, then I'm in favour.

I'm glad you put this quote up as I listened last night to Mr Trump stating that Mr Forbes lived "like a pig" in filth that was no better than a pig-sty and a national disgrace to Scotland! Does he think this slanderous outburst endears the rest of us to the Trump cause?

Leaving the legal rights and wrongs of the land possession etc. aside - of what relevance are Mr Forbes' life-style choices to Mr Trump? I find this bullying attack particularly offensive as it has been launched with the stated presumption that the rest of us are in agreement with his noxious statements against Mr Forbes.

If Mr Trump wishes to sling insults Mr Forbes' way - would he kindly have the courage to do so himself without his pathetic attempts to incriminate me.

It's my belief that this project will be an abject failure for Trump and eventually end up as Scotland's most prestigious science park. That is if Labour hasn't got back in control at the time.

My advice to any Scottish contractors is get your money up front.

And here's another snippet for you Subrosa. The covert £61bn slipped to RBS and HBoS was probably matched by similar amounts to Barclays etc.

The reason for the first two being named and shamed is down to the simple fact the word 'Scotland' is included in their name.

All the public shaming which has been concentrated on these two banks is looking more and more like a political ploy to spread fear in Scotland and undermine the push for independence by playing on peoples insecurity.

I'll try to get the scenario down, probably in the form of an open letter to Brown, in the C.R.A.P.(Crinkly) blog today or tomorrow.

Mr Forbes, or Mr Trump. Which haircut would you be embarrassed to walk down the street underneath?

If Mr Trump want;s to get going on the ad hominem stuff, he really should get a decent haircut. I was going to say I'd never seen such odd hair in my life, then Trump Junior turned up with his super-Grease style that looks as though it's made out of dyed lard.

Dreadful Hammer but many Americans warned us.

I see you're back on form OR.

I didn't realise he would resort to such insults John. Rather goes against him with the locals.

Mark, many were pro this project. What has happened is that since the initial planning was passed, Trump now wants more land and it has homes on it. The people in the homes say they were told they wouldn't be affected by his project.

Now he's decided he wants this further land and is putting compulsory purchase orders on it. That's why there is protest.

I wouldn't have thought you'd support someone who is prepared to lie in order to force 6 people out of their homes.

Well said Clarinda. I missed it last night on the news.

He's not particularly a friendly type of man. Certainly he has no understanding of the Scottish nature.

Whilst I was in favour of this when I first heard about it the idea of forcing people out of their homes - which was not in the original application - will, I hope, be opposed by all concerned. Making such remarks will only serve to turn those who might have been in favour take exactly the opposite view.

subrosa said...

My thoughts exactly brownlie. I certainly think this is going to be a project which does not do anything for Scotland now, yet I supported it initially.

A science park sounds just fine to me Crinkly.

Ah, now therein lies a story Crinkly. I won't pinch it from you but do let us know when it's posted please.

subrosa said...

I wouldn't want either of them Richard, but then you wouldn't expect me too I hope.

Aye right enough, he did look like a John Tavolta impressionist.

I am in the area frequently and am familiar with the Forbes property. Suffice to say you would not want to be next door to it.

subrosa said...

I've seen it on TV KBW and think I agree with you, but for Trump to behave in such an infantile manner doesn't help his case.

subrosa said...

Ronnie, let's not forget who started the ball rolling regarding this.

The people of Aberdeen would still have been 'let down' by labour or the libdems if they were in government.

subrosa said...

To be honest Ronnie I've forgotten much of the detail so I'll have to do some revision.

Didn't they reject it on the vote of the chappie from the libdems?

Don't you think if we had a labour/libdem government still they wouldn't have accepted it too?

Now the Titian paintings are another matter as I do think that wasn't in the public interest, but I'm sure thousands even tens of thousands would disagree with me.

subrosa said...

Of course you'd like to think not Ronnie, none of us likes to think their party gets anything wrong, but if you think back to Jack courting Trump I'm very sure that labour would have done exactly the same.

By the way, I can see you've an obvious dislike of Alex Salmond, but he didn't make the decision. It was John Swinney who called it in.

Quite possibly Ronnie, but these days I try to look forward and not backward, although I trust I give respect to lose who lost their lives through greed and hate as in the BoS affair.

I don't know about Kenny MacAskill. Why not drop him an email and ask?
