Which Town Flies this Saltire?
The above picture was taken by a Courier photographer. It flies on the roof of a Town Hall. The town is the wealthiest in the Kingdom of Fife.
One Courier reader said : "It's a disgrace in Homecoming year and at any other time." What is sad about this is that the employees who work in the building haven't protested at the condition of the flag or, if they have, management has ignored them.
Which town is it? St Andrews, the home of golf and an area which attracts tens of thousands every year to worship at the shrine called the Old Course.
The excuses from Fife Council can be read here.

Ah, St Andrews.
That wee bit o' the home counties in Fife...
Satire, SR?
Persiflage, GV?
I thought you would say that wee bit of America Conan.
Satire right enough GV. :)
Subrosa..
Come on its the credit crunch :)
Nah its very windy in North East Kent and i doubt most of the locals would bother about the Saltire.
Stick a morris dancer up instead lol
That's a bloody disgrace BTW.
GV I've just noticed my typo - I've increased the font to around 20! It's these damned eye drops, I can't see too well at all.
Anyway, to all who read this, my apologies for the error in the title. It's correct now - although satire wasn't too bad was it? ;)
I see you're in a humorous mood Spook. Kent indeed!
That is it then!
Global Warming is off the BBC LexiCON.
Enter "Rapid Warming" this morning with regard to changes in seasonal heating and cooling of The Polar Icecap.
To be replaced and melded with Climate Change and still without any relent on the "guilt" trip caused by our CO2 emissions, etc
It is all our fault you know and it is right that the Government finds ways to tax us.
Soon they will be taxing double glazing. Hang about, haven't they tried that sort of thing before?
Ah so they're speeding it up a bit Billy because they need to fill the treasury coffers quicker?
What a smart lot of politicians we have.
