When War Becomes Peace and the Lie Becomes the Truth

I've unashamedly lifted the title for this post from Global Research which states 'We are at a crossroads of the most serious crisis of modern history. The US in partnership with NATO and Israel has launched a global military adventure which, in a very real sense, threatens the future of humanity.

At this critical juncture in our history the Norwegian Nobel Committee's decision to award the nobel peace prize to President Obama constitutes an unmitigated tool of propaganda and distortion, which unreservedly reports the Pentagon's 'Long War': a 'War without Borders' in the true sense of the word, characterised by the worldwide deployment of US military might'.

You can read the whole article here. It may give you food for thought, as it did me.

This is wrong!

Wrong that he was nominated;
Wrong that he was appointed;
Wrong that he accepted;
Wrong that others have applauded;

The nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize closed two weeks after Obama first entered office.

He hadn’t even chosen the curtains for the oval room.
He hadn’t even got his kids a puppy.

But yet in the eyes of the great and good he had done sufficient to warrant nomination for the Peace Prize. That beggars belief.

They would now have us believe that this award is, for the first time, in recognition of the ‘potential for peace’ that Obama and his position can bring to the world. That beggars belief.

An imagined ability to foresee greatness in another is pure speculation, or worse, on the grandest scale. That beggars belief.

We are all but mere plankton in a vast global sea of politics. Nonetheless that should not stop us from telling those who would rule over us that – THIS IS WRONG

The first 12 header statements of the article indicate the manner in which the linguistic depravity of 'political correctness' now holds precedence even more strongly in self-serving political corruption and mass public stupefication.

The old accusation of being "economical with the truth", as being a step down from telling an outright lie, is even more deceitful and holds sway. The politicians may claim they intend to erradicate the sub-culture of poverty and deprivation (aye right)while they forge ahead fortifying their own super-culture of power and privilege.

At what point do the majority in the middle wake up and demand a just democracy as the politically insidious 'Boiled Frog Experiment' seems to be simmering away just fine - boiling point is only a premature Nobel Peace Prize away.

I believe that the Nobel Peace Prize is the gift of the Norwegian Nobel committee and not the Swedish Academy of Sciences which award the other awards.

I also believe that the closing date for nominations was February 1st 2009, some two+ months after Obama's inauguration.

The founder of the Swiss Red Cross had to wait 30 years for his half prize.

Anyone wonder if the Norwegian Awards Committee are noted for their sense of irony?

We live in frightening times.

JRB indeed it is wrong, but more worrying is the power these people hold.

The Comitte, four women and one man are all politicians within the Norwegian Parliament (Storting)

Don't let Justin Timberfruitcake or he will attribute it somehow to the Arc of Insolvency.

At least it wasn't awarded by The Dail.

Clarinda, I have my doubts if the 'middle' will ever waken up. They seem to prefer sleep walking to oblivion or as some call it the The World Order.

Bugger Lugs said...

Sorry not all are serving members of The Storting but, all are politicians.

I thought they were a secret bunch BL,but there seems to be some information on them.

Thanks for it.

According to Nobel's will, the Peace Prize is to go to whoever "shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses".

I am bewildered, bemused and befuddled.

subrosa said...

Bewildered BL? I can't believe that of you. I'm just furious really. So many people doing nothing about the future generation's wellbeing - oh except worrying about climate change and ensuring they'll give more money to those who profess to be able to 'cure' it.

I was very annoyed my this as in my daughter-in-laws country, Zimbabwe, Morgan Tsvangirai has made sterling efforts to bring peace and reconstruction to Zimbabwe, even to the point of the "accidental" death of his wife

Indeed Dram, I think many feel like you. He was certainly the one I would have chosen.
